CONTROL CHART SELECTOR
Variables data: Xbar-R chart for subgroup size 2 to 10. Xbar-S chart for subgroup size greater than 10. I-MR chart for subgroup size of 1. Attributes data: p chart for proportion defective, varying subgroup size. np chart for number defective, constant subgroup size. c chart for defects per unit, constant area of opportunity. u chart for defects per unit, varying area of opportunity.
Special cause signals: single point beyond 3 sigma, 8 consecutive points same side of centerline, 6 consecutive points trending in one direction, 2 of 3 consecutive points beyond 2 sigma.
