The menu-bar timeboxing app that respects your flow. Build your own routines. When the timer ends, Slotty waits for you to decide what's next. And you have options!
Timeboxing for people who want to get things done.
Slotty Time is a tiny menu-bar app that runs your day as routines — short playlists of timed steps for deep work, planning, wrap-ups, or whatever else you want to structure. Pick a routine, hit start, and let Slotty keep you on track, one timebox at a time.
Built on what the research actually says about focus: long uninterrupted blocks beat fragmented hours, breaks beat grinding, and four hours of real focus beats eight hours of "being at your desk." Slotty just makes it easy to do — without the productivity-bro vibes.
WHAT MAKES SLOTTY DIFFERENT
- Lives in your menu bar. No window to manage, no tab to lose. A live countdown sits in the top bar while you work.
- Never yanks you out of flow. When a step's timer hits zero, Slotty doesn't auto-advance. The countdown turns red and counts up, and a panel pops up asking what you want to do next: continue, skip, end the routine, or extend by 10%, 25%, 50% (or whatever presets you configure).
- Quick Slot for one-off focus. Don't want to build a routine? Click Quick Slot, type the minutes, and start. Same flexible expiry behavior as a saved routine.
- Schedule routines by weekday. Monday Planning shows up Mondays. Friday Review shows up Fridays. Today's routines stay at the top of the list, the rest tuck away.
COMES WITH FIVE RESEARCH-BACKED ROUTINES
- Plan the Week — 45-minute weekly review and planning. Look back, look ahead, pick your priorities.
- Start the Day — 20-minute morning triage. Inbox, calendar, top three tasks. Done before 9.
- Deep Work — 90-minute focused blocks with real breaks. Cal Newport's principles, distilled into a routine you'll actually use.
- Pomodoro — Classic 25/5 cycles for shallow work and tricky starts. Sometimes the tomato is the right tool.
- Gentle Start — Begins with 15-minute blocks and grows. For low-energy days when even Pomodoro feels like a lot.
All of them are fully editable. Add steps, change durations, swap emojis, build your own from scratch.

WHO IT'S FOR
- Developers tired of 25-minute timers going off mid-debug
- Designers who need 90-minute blocks for real creative work
- Writers, researchers, and anyone whose work requires sustained focus
- ADHD brains who need external structure but hate being bossed around
- Anyone who's tried Pomodoro, hit the limits, and wants timeboxing that fits how their brain actually works
WHAT IT WON'T DO
- Yell at you
- Track every keystroke
- Sync to a cloud you didn't ask for
- Pretend a single 25-minute timer is the answer to everything
Slotty is opinionated where the research is clear, flexible where it isn't, and stays out of your way the rest of the time.
Try it. Find your slot.
