Visuals: Isaiah's Way

Parent-led visual supports

$4.99

Visuals: Isaiah’s Way is a parent-led visual support app created to help families support understanding, communication, and participation in daily life through clear picture-based prompts. It can be especially helpful for families supporting individuals who benefit from visual examples, visual routines, and picture-based communication support, including those with autism, speech delays, or communication differences. Some people struggle to understand spoken directions alone. A parent or caregiver may say “put on your shoes,” “eat your food,” or “wash your hands,” but the message may be easier to understand when paired with a visual. Visuals can make the direction clearer by showing what the action looks like. Visuals can also help with willingness and participation. Some people are more likely to try a new food, activity, or routine when they see a visual example of someone doing it. For example, seeing a person eat a food may encourage participation with that food too. With Visuals: Isaiah’s Way, parents and caregivers can show simple visual cards for daily routines, eating, feelings, calming strategies, appointments, learning, play, safe choices, and transitions. Visuals can also be used as choices to support communication of wants and needs. The app includes tools like First–Then, My Story, and custom visual cards so families can create supports that match real-life moments. Ways families can use the app: • Show what action is being asked • Support understanding of spoken directions • Support communication by offering visual choices • Encourage participation by showing a visual example of an action, activity, or food • Prepare for routines, appointments, and transitions • Support daily living skills like potty, brushing teeth, washing hands, and getting dressed • Support mealtime by showing clear visuals of eating and trying foods • Support emotions, calming, and safe choices • Create custom cards using photos from the device Features: • Ready-made visual cards for daily life • First–Then board for simple transitions • My Story tool for short visual sequences • Custom cards with parent-selected photos • Native iPhone/iPad voice playback • Boy/girl visual options • Low/high sensory display mode • Local storage only - custom photos and cards stay on the device Visuals: Isaiah’s Way was inspired by a real parent’s experience using visuals to help her child better understand language, follow directions, communicate more clearly, and participate more willingly in everyday activities. This app is not a medical device, diagnostic tool, or therapy replacement. It is a practical visual support tool for parents and caregivers.
