WavCast is made for iPhone Duo. Your tabs sit in the side bar on both displays, and when you open it, WavCast uses the whole inner display instead of stretching the phone layout: Home, Library, Radio, News, Search, show pages and Settings show two columns that meet at the fold, and stay clear of it when the phone is partly folded. Now Playing opens full screen on the inner display, with Up Next beside the player. Also fixed: - Toolbar buttons have names, so they read correctly in VoiceOver and in the overflow menu.

Playback is steadier. Episodes that stall on a weak connection start again on their own once enough has loaded, and pressing play on something that failed to load now tries again instead of sitting silent. Skipping or scrubbing while an episode is still loading no longer crashes the app. The sleep timer pauses with your audio, so a paused timer doesn't stop playback the moment you resume. Picture in Picture keeps going when you close the full player. Sharing a show from Apple Podcasts to WavCast now finds its feed, and shows you share to WavCast from other apps now reach it. Also fixed: - Your purchase is checked before any ad loads, so ad-free listeners don't see an ad while the app starts. - Shows with very long histories send new-episode alerts again. - "Auto-download new episodes" now downloads them. - A one-time radio alarm no longer repeats the next day. - Song history and Share are back in the menu for live radio. - Control Center play and pause, Siri's "Resume WavCast" and your Apple Watch work after the app was closed, and the Watch no longer replays old taps later. - Handoff and Spotlight open episodes from more podcasts. - News shows headlines when only Top is turned on. - Cleaner episode descriptions, and iCloud sync keeps replays and re-added favorites as you left them.

CarPlay shows your shows and stations again. If WavCast wasn't open on your iPhone when you started the car, the Library, Radio, Inbox and Recents tabs came up empty. Episodes played in the car also pick up where you left off and save your place. Starting something in CarPlay now opens the Now Playing screen, and stations you play in the car appear in Recently Played. Siri and Shortcuts can pause, resume and play your favorite stations without unlocking your iPhone. Also fixed: - Audio no longer starts by itself after a phone call if you had paused. - Playing a finished episode again starts it from the beginning. - Skip and scrub buttons stay hidden for live stations that can't rewind. - Your Apple Watch stays connected even when you only use CarPlay. - Radio alarms play reliably when tapped. - Your downloads are protected if their list ever fails to load.

Scrolling is smooth again while something is playing. Home, your library and show pages were redrawing several times a second during playback, which made scrolling stutter. They now redraw only when something on screen actually changes. WavCast now runs at up to 120 frames per second on iPhones with ProMotion displays, so scrolling and animations are smoother on those models.

Ask This Episode. Ask a question about any episode with a transcript and get an answer from what was actually said, with timestamps you can tap to jump to the moment. Summaries and chapters now read the whole episode in one pass on iPhones running iOS 27, using Apple Foundation Models on Private Cloud Compute. Results are noticeably more accurate on long episodes. Other devices keep using the on-device model. Your free monthly allowance is unchanged; WavCast Plus is unlimited. Shows mentioned in an episode appear under the summary, ready to follow. Today's briefing on the News tab: a short read of the headlines for your city or region, written on demand. Video podcasts. Shows that publish video in their feed now play with the picture in the player, keep playing in the background, and support Picture in Picture. Control Center: a Play/Pause control and a Play Station control you can add to Control Center. Now Playing, Continue Listening and Radio Favorites widgets are available on the Lock Screen and in StandBy. Search in show: find any episode by title, notes, or a phrase from its transcript, right on the show page. Seasons get a picker, and episodes show their season and number. Undo. Marked something played, unfollowed a show, or removed an episode from Up Next by mistake? Tap Undo. Sharing an episode now sends a link that opens WavCast at that exact moment, and opens a simple web page for anyone without the app. Transcripts are generated with Apple's newer, faster speech engine on iOS 26 and later. Haptic feedback throughout, larger accessibility text sizes on every main screen, and smoother scrolling on Home and show pages. A more compact Continue Listening on Home.

Playback speed now sticks. Pausing, taking a call, or joining a SharePlay session used to quietly drop playback back to 1x while the speed picker still showed your choice. Resuming now continues at the speed you set. Episodes that end through an outro skip now stay marked as Played instead of reappearing in Continue Listening. Fixes an empty pill that could appear above the tab bar when nothing was playing, which clipped the row of shows beneath it. The mini player now appears only while something is actually playing. A file imported to Downloads in the first moments after launch could be removed by the storage cleanup. That cleanup now waits until your downloads are fully loaded. A handful of buttons and labels showed internal placeholder names instead of real text, including Generate Summary, Generate Chapters, Support, Copy Address, and the clip caption controls. All of them now read correctly in English and Spanish. Fixes SharePlay activation from the player menu. Built for iOS 27, with compatibility and stability work throughout.

• Chapter artwork on the player, lock screen, and CarPlay, with the current chapter title always visible • Search inside a transcript, or across your whole library, and tap any line to jump there • Summarize an episode, generate chapters for shows that don't have them, and share a moment as a clip — all on device with Apple Intelligence (supported devices only) • Add private, subscriber-only feeds with a username and password • Support shows with funding links and Value4Value, and see their hosts and recommended podcasts • Radio now remembers the songs your stations play, so you can find that track later • Fixed a feed bug that mixed live-stream details into a show's own page

This release is almost entirely about reliability. Nearly every fix here came from something that didn't behave the way you'd expect. Playback • Downloaded episodes now play from your device instead of streaming, so offline listening works on a plane and doesn't burn data. • "Stop at end of episode" now actually stops, even when you have episodes queued up in Up Next. • Tapping play no longer resets your place in the app — your tabs, scroll positions, and searches stay put. • Fixed a case where a failed episode showed as "playing" with no sound and wouldn't retry. • Crossfade no longer leaves playback silent when the queue runs out. iCloud Sync • Restoring on a new device now brings back your whole library. Large collections were silently stopping after the first hundred or so items. • Deleting a podcast, station, or bookmark on one device now sticks everywhere instead of reappearing after the next sync. • Per-podcast settings survive app updates. News & Radio • Local news articles show their full text and images again, and Atom feeds are sorted by their real publish dates. • Searching for stations or shows with symbols in the name — "r&b", "drum & bass" — returns the right results. • Fixed a station catalog entry that pointed at the wrong city's stream. Widgets, Watch & CarPlay • Fixed a crash in the Continue Listening and Inbox widgets. • The Now Playing widget keeps counting instead of freezing. • Apple Watch shows your library right away on a cold launch, and the Digital Crown volume no longer drops the last adjustment. • CarPlay lists refresh instead of showing whatever was there when you plugged in. Also • Transcripts load from feeds that use short timestamps, and a running transcription stops when you close the sheet. • Chapters no longer disappear when a show includes an untitled chapter. • Sharing a feed URL containing "&" subscribes to the correct feed. • New in Settings: rate WavCast, and browse the other apps from the studio. Thanks for the reports — keep them coming.
