New • New memory card backup — just insert a card and PickShot copies only the photos you haven't backed up yet, then reads every copy back to verify it. Pull a card mid-backup and it resumes where it stopped when you reinsert it; several cards can back up at once. Sony video cards (PRIVATE) and their sidecar and index files keep the card's folder structure, and external hard drives are no longer mistaken for cards. A separate backup window offers an easy view and an expert view. • File Foldering — register frequently used folders as slots and move selected photos with ⌘1–⌘0, or copy with ⌥⌘. Works with multiple photos and external drives. Faster culling • In Select mode, the preview appears as soon as you move and most photos reach full screen-size sharpness within about 0.2s. Fixed small cached images being mistaken for sharp ones on Retina displays, and Hasselblad 3FR and DJI drone DNG files without a large embedded preview now sharpen too. • Holding or tapping the arrow keys quickly, the preview now keeps up with the thumbnail on every frame. Fixed a 1–8 second freeze while flipping through photos. AI Culling • 'Use my taste' switch — your learned picks now inform how scene representatives are ranked, with the amount learned shown. • Fixed learning records: color labels were ignored, un-picking still counted as a like, and AI picks were learned back as your own choices. • AI auto-organize rejects unsafe folder names and rolls back if either the RAW or the JPG can't be moved. Cloud analysis stops before going over your budget. Fixes • After copy or cut, the destination folder shows the new files right away. • Fixed only one of a RAW+JPG pair going to the Trash. • Fixed the notice and terms links being cut off at the bottom of the Pro purchase window. • Fixed short file names taking three lines when full names are shown.

Improvements • Batch Rename — no more freezing with 10,000+ photos. It shows progress and can be cancelled, and names without date or camera fields are applied much faster. Number digits grow automatically when needed, and name conflicts are checked before anything changes. If the app quits midway, you can undo it on the next launch. • Fixed the previous photo lingering for a few seconds when flipping through photos quickly. • Narrowed the empty gap between the thumbnail grid and the preview. File Safety • Clearing a rating no longer deletes an XMP sidecar that also holds copyright and keywords. • Re-backing up a card replaces the old copy only after the new copy is verified. • Lightroom export and batch processing no longer overwrite a different photo with the same name. • Fixed one of a RAW/JPG/video set with the same name disappearing from the list. • Fixed adjustments made while an edit was saving being lost. • Ratings set during a subfolder search, and XMP ratings on read-only cards, now save correctly.

New • Edit panel (Pro) — press E to open a right-side editing panel: White Balance (Kelvin, presets and eyedropper for RAW), Tone, Presence, HSL, Color Grading, Selective Color, Detail (noise reduction that keeps edges), Grain, Lens Corrections, Transform, plus crop and auto-straighten. Changes appear as you drag. JPGs are saved in place with the original backed up so you can revert anytime. RAWs get a JPG saved next to them and the RAW is never touched. • Redesigned main window — key features are now labeled buttons, and all buttons, icons and bars share one size and style. A tool rail beside the preview turns on Histogram, Peaking, Clipping, AF points, Compare, Map and Info. Improvements • AI Culling is faster and gives the same result every run. It never picks closed-eye shots and shows why each photo was picked. • Card backup is about 2× faster, resumes the same card instantly, and now includes Nikon N-RAW, BRAW and R3D video. • Client Select results now come back straight through pickshot.app. • Less empty space between file names and stars in the grid, so more photos fit on screen. • Folders that contain only videos no longer build high-quality previews. • Histograms now look like the Photoshop Levels window. New • Match camera clocks — puts photos from several cameras into true shooting order. It matches the clocks automatically when you open it and shows each difference in big type, like "10 min 31 s fast compared with Camera 1". For cameras it can't match, pick two photos taken at the same moment or enter the offset yourself. An expert table view with keyboard shortcuts is included. Optionally write the corrected time to the original files and undo it later. (Pick menu) • AF point display — see where the camera focused, right on the preview. When zoomed in, the view can follow the focus point. • Shutter count — supported bodies show their shutter count in the info panel. • EXIF sync (RAW → JPG) — restores capture time, camera, lens and exposure info from the paired RAW to JPGs that lost it during editing or export. • Extract embedded JPG from RAW — pulls the preview JPG out of a RAW without recompressing it. • The focus peaking and exposure warning buttons are back, and you can choose peaking thickness/color and histogram size. Improvements • JPG rotation is now truly lossless. Previously every rotation recompressed the file, lowering quality and possibly dropping color labels and the color profile. • Writing star ratings and color labels into JPGs no longer recompresses the original. Color labels are now actually written. • Saving metadata (keywords, caption, copyright) no longer recompresses the original. • Rotating a RAW is now reflected correctly in the preview and in the Lightroom sidecar, and the rotation is kept after multiple rotations or rating changes. • Client Select uploads show progress, speed, time remaining and the connected account. • Style score calculation shows its progress. Bug fixes • Fixed thumbnails keeping the old orientation right after rotating. • Fixed old thumbnails showing after a file with the same name was replaced. • Fixed uploads failing silently when a sign-in expired or the server had a temporary error. • Fixed exports and backups failing entirely when a folder could not be created on an external volume. • Fixed failed operations being shown as successful.

Performance • Previews are much sharper when holding an arrow key in full screen. The high-resolution images PickShot prepares in advance are now actually used. • Loading a preview opens the original RAW far less often, so working from an external SSD is lighter. • Fixed high-resolution images being rebuilt from scratch on every launch. • Fixed a cache limit too small to hold a single folder, which caused constant rebuilding. • The cache location setting and automatic retention cleanup now actually work. AI Culling • Added a way into the AI culling screen. • Fixed AI results overwriting star ratings you set yourself. • Fixed AI culling results disappearing after a restart. • AI picks now show a border, and the sort options have been consolidated. Client Select • You can now choose the resolution sent to clients: 1200, 1600, or 2000. Memory and storage fixes. • Fixed memory growing over long sessions The app was measuring its own memory with the wrong metric, so cleanup never started even when usage was far past the limit. It now kicks in on time, and if clearing caches isn't enough, it lowers the cache budget itself. • Fixed the thumbnail cache growing without limit There's now a cap sized to your Mac, and it tightens further when disk space is low. Note: on the first launch after updating, cache above the cap is cleared. Folders you open often will rebuild their thumbnails once. • RAW thumbnails are faster Canon, Nikon and Sony previews now decode across multiple cores — 7-12x measured. • Reduced background work on 8GB Macs

Fixes an issue where the app could quit unexpectedly while viewing RAW photos. • Fixed the app quitting in large RAW folders The app could close when a thumbnail and a preview opened the same RAW file at the same time. It showed up most often on first entering a folder with many photos, such as Canon CR3. The photo you are looking at is now always handled first, so preview speed is unchanged.

The bigger your folder, the more you will notice this. • Filename search is faster Searching across subfolders no longer reopens the whole folder. Only the photos that match are added to the list, and clearing the search puts things back. Your current photo, your ratings, and your warmed-up previews all stay. • The "Include subfolders" button is clearer It turns yellow when it is on, and tells you up front when there are no subfolders to expand. • Fixed previews being rebuilt even when a ready one was already cached • Fixed the settings window being too narrow, clipping text
