WHY YOU NEED THIS CALCULATOR:
When installing split systems, mini-splits, or equipment with long line sets, the factory charge only covers standard line length (typically 25 ft). Every extra foot of copper tubing requires additional refrigerant. This calculator provides exact amount based on industry charge-per-foot tables - preventing system undercharge that destroys compressors.

Charge-per-foot values computed from NIST REFPROP-grade refrigerant densities (liquid line at 70°F, suction vapor at 40°F saturation) and aligned with manufacturer long-line guides (Goodman, Carrier). Covers both liquid and suction line contributions. Always follow your unit's installation manual when it specifies a different per-foot value.
