New
Tool editor with live geometry — a dimensioned profile appears as you edit the parameters, with cutting length, point angle and shank diameter. The 2D preview and the 3D dummy share one geometry source, so they can never disagree.
Shank diameter for every tool type, including shanks thicker than the cutting edge (a micro cutter on a Ø6 shank).
Full circles in a single block instead of two semicircles — the old split made many controllers decelerate at the seam halfway round. A "Split full circles" switch in the post processor restores the old behaviour where a controller needs it.
Improvements
Rapid approach before plunging: the tool rapids from clearance height down to 0.5 mm above the already-cleared level — the stock top on the first pass, the previous pass depth afterwards — and only the remainder runs at plunge feed. Saves real time on multi-pass contours, pocketing, circular pockets, drilling, carving and thread milling. The first peck of a drill cycle now benefits too; previously only the later pecks did.
No more detour to clearance height when it gains nothing: when a pass ends exactly where the next one plunges — the normal case for closed contours — the tool goes straight on down. Island contours used to retract after every pass for nothing.
Point angle now applies to end mills, T-slot cutters and face mills as well, in the drawing and in the finished part.
Bug fixes
Holding tabs were milled away by the finish pass. Automatic tab distribution existed in three places, each using a different tab length — the preview without the tool diameter, roughing with the roughing tool, finishing with the finishing tool. The tabs therefore sat in three different positions, and the finish pass kept its own while cutting away the roughing pass's. One shared source now: distribution depends only on the contour, the count and the visible tab length; the tool diameter only sets the width.
A tab on the contour seam was cut through — twice over, by the entry plunge at the start of each pass and by a final vertical move at the end of the path. On a closed contour both are the same point.
Ramp entry cut through holding tabs. The ramp now stays at tab height above a tab and resumes descending at the configured angle afterwards.
A manually placed tab on the contour seam was clipped to half its width — and, because the span includes the tool diameter, often left nothing at all.
Pocketing: the rapid ran through solid material. It targeted the pass depth + 0.5 mm instead of the level actually cleared, so on the first Z pass and with any stepdown over 0.5 mm the tool rapided into the stock.
Contour with a gap too large to close: the pass ends away from the start point, but the next pass still plunged at the old place.
Finish contour with lead-in/lead-out on a DXF circle: the tool ended a lead radius away from the contour and the next pass ramped from there.
Phantom hole in the finished part at every seam with a holding tab — the old vertical move at the end of the path looked like a drill cycle to the hole detection.
Tools could no longer be copied into a custom library by drag and drop.
