Two canvas fixes: • Pasting a web link into a label that already has text now keeps your text. The page title is used only when the paste replaces the whole label. • Expanding a long label on a pill-shaped node now keeps the node's rounded shape.

Kloni 2 is the biggest update yet. THE DOCUMENT The Outline is now the Document: read the whole map as one piece of writing, with every node a heading and its note the text beneath. Switch between Read, Skim and Actions (open tasks only), and find anything with ⌘F, folded sections included. WRITING • Note pane: the selected node's note beside the map, with its status, date, priority and tags. • Writing sheet (⌘⇧↵): a centred page over the map, with typewriter scrolling. • Turn a note into child nodes or tasks, or merge child notes into their parent's. • Link a map or node with [[, paste formatted Markdown, add callouts, and drag blocks to move them. • Type a date, #tag, !high or [] in a label and press Tab to set it on the node. ICLOUD, HANDOFF AND SHARING • Keep your library in your own iCloud Drive. • Handoff: continue the open map on a nearby iPhone, and back again. • Share (⌘⇧E) a map as a Kloni file, PDF, PNG or Markdown. Importing one asks whether to keep both or replace. FINDING THINGS • Go to (⌘⇧O) finds maps and nodes across your whole library. • Search is its own place in the library column, with top tags, quick filters and recent searches. • The Tags sheet (⌘⇧T) renames, merges and deletes tags everywhere at once. A NEW LOOK • One docked window: a single library column, docked Inspector and History, and an ink selection ring. • A new app icon, nine refined palettes, and quiet full screen, where controls fade until you need them. • Tree List, Tree Table and Columns now read as an indented tree, a sheet and a board. • Tags on the canvas are always shown, and new branches fold and unfold with motion. ALSO • Quick Capture gains a / command menu and chips for dates, statuses and priorities. • Archiving can be undone. • Spaces: pick one for every list, or follow the open map. • Plenty of fixes throughout. Kloni 2 requires macOS 13 or later.

Archive maps you're done with, plus canvas and Quick Capture polish and many fixes. ARCHIVE • Right-click a map, or a selection, in the Maps tab to move it into a collapsed Archived section. Nothing moves on disk, and unarchiving restores it exactly, pin and space included • Archive a whole space at once from its header • Archived maps drop out of Today, Inbox, Blocked and Completed, but still turn up in Quick Open, the map-link picker and cross-map search CANVAS • Hold Opt while lasso-dragging to remove nodes from the selection (Shift adds). Esc cancels a lasso • Shift-drag lasso now adds to the existing selection instead of replacing it • In the Top Down layout, dropping a node onto the middle of another now makes it a child • Right-clicking empty canvas no longer clears your selection NOTES AND DATES • A date-only node's note shows the date as its title, and the date animates between the title and metadata lines • In a note, Tab at the start of a paragraph after a list moves it into the list's last item • "sept" now works as a month name when typing a date QUICK CAPTURE • Captures into the map you already have open appear on it straight away • /status and /priority both apply, whichever order you type them • A captioned image keeps its caption when the note moves into its target map • Typing in Quick Capture no longer affects the main window behind it OUTLINE • More reliable editing, undo and Paste while switching maps or opening History mid-edit • Dragging a row drops it where the pointer is • Opening a task or search result scrolls to the node IMPROVEMENTS • Faster startup: About, What's New and the Application Map load when first needed • File dialogs (Open, Import Markdown, Insert Image, Attach File) start in Downloads the first time, then where you last were • Many fixes to search, tags, history, links and map preferences. Search can no longer hang on a hand-edited map with a damaged structure, and a damaged preferences file is never overwritten Kloni now requires macOS 13 (Ventura) or later.

This update improves how maps open and how content displays: - Opening a map now frames it to fit the whole view. - Long labels on the canvas now wrap at word boundaries instead of splitting mid-word. - Fixed an issue where converting numbered lists to bullets or tasks could throw off numbering.

Kloni 1.1 adds new ways to get things into a map, a log of everything you have finished, and a considerably faster app on large libraries. NEW • Paste a YouTube or Google Maps link to get a node with the video's title and thumbnail, or with the name of the place. • One import dialog for every source: a link, pasted Markdown, or a file. Import (⌘⇧M) brings it into the current map, New from Import (⌘⇧U) starts a new one. • Import any web page as an outline, with each heading linking back to the page. • Extract to Linked Map moves a branch into its own map and leaves a link behind. • Completed tab: a day-by-day log of every finished task in your library. • Sort each task queue (Today, Inbox, Blocked) by added date, due date, or priority. • Promote every checkbox in a note to child task nodes in one step. • One Export dialog (⌘E), with options that used to be fixed now yours to set: image scale and region, PDF page size, background, and light or dark output. • Outline PDF export prints the whole outline, including folded notes and collapsed branches, with clickable links and a navigable heading structure. • Broken map links now show as broken and can be relinked in one click, and Kloni warns you before deleting a map that other maps link to. • A map deleted outside Kloni shows a banner offering to restore it. • Hovering a node whose label is cut off expands it in place to show the full text, and a long label can send its overflow into the node's note. • Format, View, Library, History and node menus added to the menu bar. IMPROVED • Noticeably faster cold start. • Libraries with thousands of maps load, search, and switch faster. • Typing and editing are noticeably snappier on large maps, in both Canvas and Outline. • Every menu command is now reachable from the command palette. • Reworked hotkey recorder, with app shortcuts paused while you record a new one. • Renaming a tab also renames the map file on disk. • Node labels are no longer capped at 100 characters. • Node type shortcuts (task, link, tags, date, status, priority) work while you are editing a label, not only when a node is selected. • The tag popover keeps the caret in the field, so adding several tags never needs the mouse. • Deleting several selected nodes lands the selection on the nearest surviving node instead of the map root. FIXED • Undo history is no longer wiped after editing a note, and undo reverts a multi-node change in a single step. • Notes survive a reopen intact: tables keep their content, code blocks keep their backticks, and list items keep multiple paragraphs. • History no longer loses entries, restores, or your undo position, and a trimmed archive can be recovered from its automatic backup. • Save As now copies the map's attachments and history, warns before replacing an existing map, and reports a failure instead of leaving you to believe the copy exists. • An external change to a map no longer steals focus or resets your zoom and pan. • Autosaving a background tab no longer writes its images into the map you are looking at. • ⌘V in panels and dialogs pastes text instead of creating a node. • Shortcuts the app documented but never bound now work, including ⌘K for links, ⌘⇧X for strikethrough, and ⌘D for checkboxes. • Image and Markdown export work from Outline view, and a failed export reports instead of doing nothing. • Quick Capture no longer reverts edits you made while it was saving. • Many more fixes across the canvas, Outline, Library, export, and Quick Capture.
