This update fixes a start-up problem after a restore. Starting after a restore on another device: if you had restored a backup on one device, the app on your other devices could get stuck on "Starting…" at the next launch. This is fixed, the rebuild from iCloud now completes in the background.

Safer backups and more protection against accidental deletion. - Backup with Handicap Index per round: the backup now stores the Handicap Index as well as Course Rating, Slope and Par as they applied at the time of each round. After a restore, older rounds calculate correctly again. After updating, a fresh backup is worthwhile, because older backups do not contain these values yet. - Confirmation before deleting: before a tee, a rating or a layout is deleted, the app asks first and shows how many rounds are affected. - Season review: achievements carry the caption "Achievement", so they can no longer be mistaken for the year's figures. - Fixes: no more false stroke index warning on 9-hole layouts whose holes carry the indexes of the 18-hole round. Merging a backup no longer stops on duplicate holes.

Load courses right inside the app and share your golf year as a card. - Search courses online: under "Import" you will now find "Search Online". The list shows verified courses from nicergolfjournal.ch, filterable by country, name, club or location. One tap on "Load" is all it takes. No account needed, and nothing is sent. - Compare existing courses: if you already have a course, "Compare" adds only what is missing, such as an extra tee. Your existing values and rounds stay untouched. - Your Golf Year: the season review as a card to share. Rounds, courses, best round, the course of your Handicap Index, putts, GIR and FIR compared with the previous year, and the year's achievements. Name and Handicap Index can be hidden. The image is only created when you share. - iPhone starts with your rounds: the app opens on the Rounds tab, where you most often begin.

A small update focused on courses. • Newer course files can now be applied: if a course is already in the app and you import a newer version, for example from nicergolfjournal.ch, the app adds what is new: extra tees, layouts, hole sets and ratings. Everything already there stays as it is, and so do your played rounds. Previously the import stopped in this case. • "Favorites Only" when creating a round: a switch in the course selection shows only your favourite courses. The app remembers your choice. • Courses in your country first: the course list and the course selection show courses from the country set as your region in the system settings at the top. • On the Mac, the course list filters are tidier: the search field has its own row, and the labels no longer wrap. • On iPhone, the message after a course import now appears in your language.

The biggest update yet: new insights, true nine-hole handicapping and plenty of polish. - New analysis category "Achievements": 36 badges drawn from your round history, from your first birdie and break milestones to streaks. All existing rounds count retroactively, and everything is computed on device. - Compare against your handicap class: twelve analysis cards can be measured against published averages for your class instead of the previous period. No data ever leaves your device. - Nine-hole rounds on 18-hole courses: simply pick front 9 or back 9 when creating a round. Without official nine-hole ratings the app approximates the net result, clearly marked with ≈. With dedicated nine-hole ratings (now recordable per tee), the round becomes fully handicap-relevant. - Weather and course conditions as icon choices instead of free text, freely combinable. Adverse conditions feed into the round assessment. - Course management: hole sets with their own numbering (such as 10 to 18), courses can be retired, and 0 putts (chip-in) can now be recorded on both platforms. - "Send Feedback" in Settings: a direct line via a prepared email, still no account and no data collection. Note: the consistency check is now equally strict on iPhone and Mac. A few older rounds may show a review hint. Your data itself does not change.

A maintenance release: importing and iCloud sync become more robust and safer. - Backups and course files are checked before they are read. Oversized or broken files are rejected before they can do harm, and the message names the affected field. - When another device restores a backup for the whole account, this device now reports it instead of silently rebuilding its data. - The automatic matching of duplicate players could delete real rounds in a rare timing window. It now distinguishes reliably and waits until the iCloud import has finished. - Extreme values in the data can no longer crash the app. - During a full restore, the file is checked before anything is deleted.

A maintenance update: it fixes issues found in 1.3.0 and adds no new features. • No more waiting on the first launch after the update: the one-off recalculation of all rounds used to leave the app unresponsive, a minute or more with larger data sets. It now runs in the background. • A warning for incomplete stroke indexes: playing a 9-hole course as an 18-hole round easily leaves you with the indexes 1 to 9 twice. Net and Stableford then come out too favourable. Creating a layout and the layout list now tell you which indexes are duplicated and which are missing. • Everything in your language: some texts appeared in German or English regardless of your language setting, among them the result window title, the Gross and Net labels and the chart axes. • French: “Slope” now stays Slope there too, like GIR, FIR and Fairway.

This release answers the question the numbers alone don't: what went wrong out there? • A short read on every round: once a round is complete, the round view shows a brief assessment in plain sentences, such as "Holes with a greenside bunker cost you 1.5 strokes more than the rest" or "Best GIR rate of your recent rounds". It compares against your last ten rounds and names strengths as readily as weaknesses. Everything is calculated on your device; nothing is sent to a service. • Two new details per hole: alongside strokes and putts you can now record a greenside bunker contact and the direction of a missed fairway. Both are on by default and can be switched off in Settings; anything already recorded is always kept. • Fairway dispersion: it shows how your missed fairways split between left and right, making it the one metric that points at a cause rather than a result. "You hit 35 percent" says less than "You miss right 72 percent of the time". • Bunker cost: how many strokes a hole with a greenside bunker costs you on average compared to the rest. • Putting, measured properly: average putts per hole is misleading, because a missed green often leads to a single putt after the chip. You now get average putts on GIR holes, plus the one-putt rate split by whether the green was hit. • Where you actually lose shots: the Holes category now shows par 3, 4 and 5 as well as front nine and back nine as a deviation from par instead of an absolute score. 3.8 on a par 3 becomes +0.8, and the numbers are directly comparable. • Clearer scoring: on Mac the hole table fits the window again and shows more holes at a glance. On iPhone every hole is the same height and starts on the same edge. • Correction for greens in regulation: a par 5 reached in two used to not count as a green in regulation. Those holes ended up in the scrambling calculation instead. Your GIR rate may rise and your scrambling rate fall once rounds are saved again. Picked-up holes are now also preserved when restoring from a backup file.

This update gives you more control over how the app looks, and brings the numbers you care about closer to where you need them. • Choose your appearance: the app used to always follow your system setting for light and dark. In Settings you can now fix it to Light or Dark, or keep following the system as before. Works on iPhone and Mac and takes effect immediately. • All totals in the round overview: you no longer have to edit a round and expand the totals to see a player's full statistics. In the round overview you can now expand "More Totals" per player, showing average putts per hole, penalty strokes, GIR and FIR — plus gross and net Stableford on iPhone. • Easier course search (iPhone): when creating a new round, the search field in the course picker sat below the list and was easy to miss, so you ended up scrolling instead of filtering. It is now permanently visible above the list. • Lower system requirement: the app previously required iOS 26.5 or macOS 26.5. It now runs from iOS 26.0 and macOS 26.0, so it works on more devices. Nothing changes about what the app does.

A reliability and stability update — no visible changes to how you use the app, but your data is handled more robustly under the hood. • Fixed trend arrows: analysis tiles no longer show a misleading red arrow when a value hasn't actually changed — now correctly shown as "±0.00". • More reliable global restore: restoring a backup or deleting all data now works more reliably across devices, with an automatic local safety copy created before any automatic rebuild. • Stable results for re-rated courses: adjusting a course's rating afterwards (course rating, slope or par, e.g. after renovations) no longer changes the results of rounds you already played there. • Duplicate players merge automatically: if the same player is created independently on two devices before iCloud has synced, the app now detects and merges the duplicates automatically after the next sync.

Small quality-of-life improvements and a more polished start. • Played rounds in your profile: player detail now shows how many rounds a player has played, and deleting a player warns you if rounds are linked. • Default player pinned to the top: in every player picker (creating a round, adding players to a round or group, the analysis filter) your default player now appears first, marked with a star. • Smoother start on iPhone: a loading indicator appears right away, and a subtle banner shows while iCloud syncs your data for the first time. • Refined start screen and About window on Mac: now in the same blue design as iPhone.

More accurate scoring and a simpler way to set up courses. • Adjusted Gross Score (WHS): every round now shows the adjusted gross score next to your actual gross, with each hole capped at net double bogey — so it's clear how your handicap-relevant score comes about. • Pickup holes for Stableford: mark a hole as picked up when no more points are possible. It counts as net double bogey and keeps the round handicap-complete. • Round-type aware analysis: the headline figure and your stats now follow the round type (points for Stableford, strokes for Stroke Play), and you can filter the analysis by round type. • Default round type: choose whether new rounds start as Stroke Play or Stableford. You can still switch per round. • Simpler course setup: guidance to the next step until a course is playable, quicker editing of layouts, tee sets and Ratings, editable layouts (name and active state), and automatic Rating pre-fill when a tee has only one. • More polish: clearer feedback about missing required fields when adding a course, consistent "Rating" wording, and localization fixes.

Version 1.2 greatly expands your analysis. The new Analysis view replaces the dashboard and brings everything together in one place. New • Analysis view with a fixed filter bar and a single or comparison mode. On iPhone, "Analysis" is the first tab. • Overview with key metrics: rounds, handicap index, avg. strokes per hole, avg. to par, GIR % and avg. putts, each with the change versus the previous period. • Statistics categories: Scoring, Driving, Short game, Putting and Holes, with score distribution, FIR %, scrambling %, 3-putt rate and par-3/4/5 and front/back-9 averages. • Trend charts right inside the analysis, shown as a calm line with a clearly visible trend line. • Course analysis: metrics per course and layout, sortable. • Group comparison: the players of a group side by side, best value per metric highlighted. • A player can now belong to several groups. • Automatic default player, synced across devices via iCloud. Improved • Reworked iOS navigation with a clear 5-tab structure: Analysis, Rounds, Courses, Players, Settings. • Players and groups combined in one tab on iPhone. • Statistics PDF directly from the analysis. • Unified KPI icons and score colours on iPhone and Mac. Fixed • 9-hole rounds now calculate the handicap correctly with half the index. Existing rounds can be corrected via "Tools → Recalculate all rounds". • The scorecard now shows the real hole numbers for partial layouts (e.g. back 9). • Localisation completed in German, English, French, Spanish and Italian. • The avatar symbol now syncs via iCloud.

New: Choose your distance unit. Course distances can now be shown and entered in either metres or yards. Set the unit in Settings and it applies instantly across all views.
