Qawlat — Quran Roots

Quranic roots in your pocket

Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.

1,768 roots analyzed in 16 axes, and 77,430 sayings linked to their verse and root — a complete encyclopedia in your pocket, its entire basis from the Qur’an. Qawlat — The encyclopedia of Quranic roots and sayings in your pocket, all within the app. It's not just a reading app, but a comprehensive linguistic reference built solely from the Quranic text: every root, every word (qawl), every verse — analyzed and connected in a single, easily navigable interface. What's inside Qawlat? The Reader • Two modes: line by line (in the clear Hafs script), or the complete printed page of the Quran. • Tap any word to open its "qawl": its specific meaning, root, occurrences, and supporting evidence. • Tap any verse number to open the "verse's meaning": an analysis in 11 sections connecting the word to the complete verse's meaning and its position within the chapter's argument. • Search within the reader: the entire Quran or just the current chapter. • Save your reading position, a comfortable night mode, and decorative verse numbers as in the Quran. Unified Search Type anything—a word, phrase, or root—and the results will be categorized as: root/quote/phrase, with intelligent suggestions for related roots, contextual information for each result (verses before and after it), and a breakdown of results by surah. The Encyclopedia — Five Sections • Roots: 1,768 analytical entries, each root with 16 fixed axes: definition, forms, positions, central evidence, structural nuances, antithesis (antonym), conjugation, differences from related roots, semantic boundaries, surah density, and more. • Quotes: Word forms and their meanings—each form with its independent meaning that distinguishes it from other forms of the same root. • Themes: Hundreds of Qur'anic themes arranged in fields, grouping verses according to their overarching meaning. • Semantic Fields: 176 fields that group adjacent roots based on their general theme. • Contemplating Surahs: 114 pages, each surah explored through its central theme (the surah's argument), subtle points, and prominent roots. Favorites Save your verses, roots, and sayings in one place, and access them with a single tap. A Respectable Experience • A consistent font size with five levels applies throughout the application. • Night and day modes, or automatic mode. • A fully Arabic interface designed from right to right, with no inverted translation. A Rigorous Approach: From the Quran Alone Every analysis in "Sayings" is based on the Quranic text itself—its verses, contexts, and internal statistics—without external sources. We don't offer a "final answer," but rather analytical tools that allow you to see the text for yourself: every summary is linked to its Quranic reference so you can judge for yourself. What Works Offline? The reader, unified search, root encyclopedia, topics, fields, surah contemplation, and favorites—all work offline (the entire database is integrated within the app). Verse meanings, saying meanings, and Quran page fonts are retrieved from the qawlat.com encyclopedia when needed and are temporarily saved for faster browsing later. Your privacy is protected. • No accounts, no ads, no tracking, no analytics. • Your preferences are stored locally only. Who is this app for? For students, linguistic researchers, translators, and any reader who wants to move from simply "reading" the Quran to linguistically "contemplating" it—from the beginner with its easy-to-use interface to the expert scholar with 16 axes for each root. In numbers: • 1,768 fully analyzed roots • 77,430 sayings linked to their verses and roots • 6,236 verses in their Uthmani script • 114 chapters with their arguments and subtleties • 176 semantic fields Search, read, reflect—the encyclopedia is with you wherever you are. The complete encyclopedia is available online at: qawlat.com

Two fixes to search and navigation: • Search: results under "Qawlat" (single words) could disappear, leaving only the "Phrases" category — e.g. searching for جزية or مؤمنين. Each of the three categories — Root, Qawla, Phrase — now shows its true result count, and the app opens whichever one actually has results. • Encyclopedia: opening a root page from search results made it impossible to get back to the encyclopedia's sections. Navigation is restored
