Understory
Dream Journal & Pattern Track
Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
New: 30-day free trial. Track recurring symbols and archetypes across weeks of dreams, not just one at a time. Jungian and Talmudic lenses. Never sold as ad data.
Every morning, something slips away.
The dream that held something — a feeling, a face, a pattern you almost recognised — dissolves before you reach for your phone. Understory catches it before it goes.
Understory is not a dream journal. It is a subconscious intelligence system. The difference matters.
A journal stores. Understory listens across time. It notices what returns. It maps what shifts. It finds the thread running beneath a hundred separate nights and shows you what your mind has been quietly working on without your permission.
Speak your dream the moment you wake. Understory transcribes, structures, and analyses it — extracting symbols, emotional currents, narrative patterns, and the role you played. Not with generic dream dictionary language. With precision built from your own recurring material.
Over weeks, patterns emerge. Water appears again. The house you left returns. You shift from observer to pursuer and back. Understory tracks these movements and renders them as intelligence — a private map of the self in motion.
CAPTURE — Voice capture designed for the waking state. Dark, minimal, one tap. Because the dream is already fading.
EXTRACTION — Every entry becomes data: symbols, roles, patterns, emotional intensity, narrative arc.
PATTERN DETECTION — What recurs across 14 days, what shifts week to week, what your subconscious returns to.
THE UNSEEN MIND — A weekly intelligence report. Not a summary. A reading.
CREATIVE ENGINE — Lyric fragments, scene seeds, character concepts drawn directly from your dream content. Raw material from your subconscious. Use it however you want.
THE OTHER DREAMERS — Five ancient traditions that noticed the same patterns you're carrying. Not as answers. As company.
IDENTITY ARC — Your dream-self role tracked across 30, 60, 90 days.
PERSONAL SYMBOL MEANINGS — You define what water means to you. Understory remembers.
REFLECTION PROMPTS — Socratic questions matched to what you dreamed. Never diagnostic. Always yours.
Your dreams are not ad inventory. Nothing is sold. AI processing is transparent and explained. You can export or delete everything, always.
Understory becomes more useful the more you use it. The first dream is a data point. The thirtieth is a map.
