CLASSIC BATTLE, REBUILT You're not writing words next to your opponent any more. You're attacking them. NEW POWERS There were five. Now there are twelve, and seven are brand new: • Mirror — sends an incoming attack back at whoever threw it • Quake — scrambles the order of your opponent's letters • Hourglass — locks your opponent briefly after every word they play • Tribute — half of everything they score is paid to you • Thief — takes points straight off their score, now • Fog — they can't see your score • Blackout — their own letters go dark Bomb has joined Classic too. YOUR LOADOUT You carry four of the twelve into a match, and more unlock as you level up. Which four you bring is the last decision you make before the fight. A FIGHT YOU CAN SEE Every power has its own art, animation and sound. Your attack crosses the table and lands on their card — and when a Shield or a Mirror stops it, you see that happen. New: Table Duel! Take a seat at a 4-player table in Duels. Everyone plays the same letters for 30 seconds, the lowest score is out each round, and the last one standing wins. Play at your own pace; we notify you with the results. Daily Word is now 6 letters and the first letter is free. Cracking it is a lot more fun. Tap any opponent's avatar in Duels to view their profile; league rings and VIP badges show at the table. Fewer ads: full-screen ads now appear every 3 matches. The star of this update is a brand-new board mode: - Your word is the dice: the longer the word, the further your pawn moves. - Land on a rival's square and you knock them back to the start. - Hit a face-down "?" tile with a 5+ letter word and the hidden letter opens for everyone. - Crack the hidden Master Word first and become the Word Master. - First player to bring both pawns home takes the table and the prize pool. - Tap a player to throw a reaction, buy a hint mid-match, and watch out for golden laps and freezes.
