Blind Assistant: SightAid
Light Detect, Proximity Sensor
Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
SightAid is free to use. Doesn't have any purchases/subscriptions.
SightAid helps blind and low-vision users understand their surroundings through sound, speech, and haptic feedback.
The app includes two simple modes - that can be switched by simply shaking the phone:
* Light Sense, which uses the camera to estimate the brightness of the environment. And gives feedback by vibration and sound.
* Proximity, which helps detect nearby obstacles and announces distance feedback out loud and via vibrations.
SightAid is designed for quick, accessible awareness in everyday situations, whether checking if a room is bright, locating a light source, or sensing nearby objects.
