Exposir
Light Meter for Photographers
$2.99 · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
See it in black and white first. Exposir meters the light, previews the tones, and gives you the exposure — before you ever press the shutter.
Exposir is a precise, intuitive light meter designed for photographers who want full control over their exposure — whether shooting with a film camera, manual lens, or any camera without automatic metering.
REAL-TIME LIGHT MEASUREMENT
Exposir reads the light in front of you instantly, displaying EV values with smooth, accurate updates. No guesswork — just the data you need to make the right exposure decision.
THREE METERING MODES
Switch between Average, Center-Weighted, and Spot metering in one tap. In Spot mode, simply tap anywhere on the screen to meter exactly where you need.
MONOCHROME PREVIEW
See the scene in black and white before you commit. Ideal for previsualizing tonal separation when you're shooting B&W film.
LIVE HISTOGRAM
A real-time luminance histogram shows exactly how the tones fall, so you can catch clipping before it costs you a frame.
MAKE IT YOURS
Color-code individual apertures and shutter speeds, and set the background, frame and slider colors to match how you work.
EXPOSURE COMBINATION AT A GLANCE
The built-in exposure slide rule shows aperture and shutter speed combinations side by side, so you can find the right settings in seconds.
LOCK YOUR EXPOSURE
Lock the screen and take your time — compose your shot and consider your exposure without rushing. Exposir acts as a second viewfinder, giving you the freedom to think before you shoot.
ZOOM & FOCAL LENGTH
Built-in zoom control lets you recreate the exact focal length of your camera lens, right from your iPhone.
FINE EXPOSURE COMPENSATION
Adjust exposure compensation with an intuitive slider, in steps as fine as 0.1 EV — or switch to 0.2, 0.3 or 0.5 EV increments to match how you work.
LONG EXPOSURE MODE
Planning a long exposure shot? Exposir calculates the correct shutter speed for any ND filter combination, then counts down with a built-in timer — with pause, resume, and a notification when your exposure is done. The countdown keeps running on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, so you can put your phone down and just watch the scene. Every completed exposure is saved to your history.
CLEAN. FAST. ALWAYS READY.
Exposir launches instantly and stays out of your way. No subscriptions, no ads — just a reliable tool that works every time you raise your camera.
WIDGET SUPPORT
Add Exposir to your Home Screen or Lock Screen with the built-in widget — launch the app instantly, right when the light catches your eye.
Exposir requires camera access for light metering.
Ratings & Reviews
- This app hasn’t received enough ratings or reviews to display an overview.
Long exposures now account for reciprocity failure.
Film loses effective speed during a long exposure, so a metered time
followed literally comes out underexposed. Choose your film in Long
Exposure mode and Exposir corrects the shutter time for you — on HP5
Plus a metered 10 seconds becomes 20, on Tri-X 400 it becomes 50.
Corrections come from each manufacturer's own published data, and the
metered time and the correction in stops stay on screen, so you can
always see exactly what changed. Treat them as a starting point and
test for critical work.
Also in this release:
- Added ISO 160, for Portra 160 and Pro 160NS
- The exposure lock now survives closing Long Exposure mode
