Reading Circles are here. Read alongside a friend as a buddy pair, or start a small group. Each of you picks the book you're reading for the circle, and you keep a weekly streak together. Every reader's week counts against their own reading goal, so nobody has to keep up with anyone else. If a friend goes quiet, send them a nudge. One a day keeps it friendly. Live meetups turn your circle into a reading room. Start a meetup, pick how long it runs, and everyone who joins gets their timer going with one tap. When it ends, the recap shows what everyone read, and you can share it as a card. For You picks your next read from your to-read shelf, the series you're in, and the books you loved. Your top picks also show up on Home as Up Next, and right after you finish a book. The Community feed now translates reviews, quotes and notes from readers around the world into your language. Spoilers stay blurred until you tap to reveal them. Supporters get a new Mood background. Your app background and widget shelf change with the mood of what you're reading. Also new: notifications for circle meetups, circle activity and new followers, each with its own switch in Settings. A badge on the app icon for unread notifications. More control over what shows on your public profile, including a new Want to Read section. Your widget setup now follows you to your other devices. Plus fixes for Apple Books sync, Google sign-in replacing a profile photo you uploaded, and a crash when closing the keyboard.

BookStreak 2.0 brings a whole new way to connect with other readers. The Community tab lets you explore what other readers are reading, follow friends, and see a live activity feed of reviews, sessions, and quotes. Discover trending books filtered by source, genre, or author. Your public profile has been completely redesigned with a parallax banner, favourite books on a wooden shelf, a reading life card, and a currently-reading section for visitors to browse. Browse dedicated author, genre, and series pages with featured picks, ratings, and one-tap add to your library. See every book in a series in order with your progress tracked alongside. Apple Books sync is out of beta and available for everyone. Kobo Cloud Sync is here too — enter a 6-digit code and your Kobo library syncs wirelessly, including reading sessions, highlights, and shelf mappings. Two new seasonal looks: Winter Frost brings icy textures and snowflake decorations, while a Halloween widget background adds spooky textures and pumpkin decorations to your bookshelf. Purchase links on community books point you to bookshops. Pro has been renamed to Supporter, framed as reader patronage with a 7-day trial. Plus: iOS 18 tinted mode support, better notifications, individually tappable multi-author names, and many bug fixes.

Various bug fixes and stability improvements, including smoother journal scrolling and more reliable cloud sync.

Apple Books annotations now import as pairs. If you highlighted a passage and added a note in Apple Books, BookStreak imports them together as an annotation card so your thoughts stay connected to the text. The Home screen loads right away when you open the app. No more waiting around to see your sessions and stats. Theme textures now show on every screen, including full-screen overlays that previously had a flat background. Insights cards have a cleaner layout with better spacing and properly sized controls. Widget covers load faster, and widgets refresh immediately after you import books. Various bug fixes and stability improvements, including smoother journal scrolling and more reliable cloud sync.

Mid-Autumn Festival brings a new seasonal widget background with lanterns, a jade rabbit decoration, and a paper lantern decoration. Annotations are here. Pair a quote with your own note to capture what a passage meant to you. Annotate from the timer, card editor, or book detail. Browse your annotations in the Journal with a dedicated filter, or see them on the new Annotated widget. BookStreak now tracks characters in the books you read. See who appears in each book, add your own notes about them, and browse characters on a dedicated character widget. You can now start, pause, and stop your reading timer directly from the Continue Reading widget without opening the app. And quote cards now have a "Said by" field so you can credit the character or author. The Journal and Library load page by page now, so they stay fast even with hundreds of entries. Large imports are significantly faster too. Also: clearer widget picker names, an editorial layout for the Journal widget, Arabic translations for Live Activity and widgets, and fixes for language switching crashes, and the import flow reopening unexpectedly.

Faster launch and smoother screens — the Home screen and Library now load progressively, so you see your books sooner even with a large library. The Notes screen scrolls more smoothly, and widgets update the moment you change your theme or texture. Widget polish — the medium bookshelf widget now centers properly when your shelf is empty, and the large widget shows a friendly message when there are no books to display. Email sign-in for Goodreads users — if you signed up with your Goodreads account, you can now add an email and password so your account stays accessible even after the Goodreads connection is retired. A banner walks you through the switch. Various bug fixes and stability enhancements.

This update fixes a few things that affected how the app looks and launches. A black screen could appear during startup. That's fixed. And if the app ever gets stuck loading, it now shows a recovery screen instead of staying blank. Widgets update faster now. Covers load sooner and widgets refresh as soon as new covers are ready. The wood shelf style also applies to the large bookshelf widget. Fixed a white gap around the journal widget with certain backgrounds. Kindle highlights now show page numbers and update your book progress. Also fixed: series showing placeholder text, a crash when switching to a right-to-left language, and Kindle highlights now show page numbers.

This update is focused on performance and reliability. Startup is faster and more resilient, especially for large libraries or spotty connections. The app now handles database initialization more efficiently and has a safety net if anything stalls during launch. Cloud sync is smoother too. If your session expires mid-sync, it refreshes and retries instead of stalling. Large uploads are batched more efficiently, and if a sync gets stuck, it recovers on its own with gradual retry. You can now import Kindle highlights. They arrive as cards you can browse and share, with your notes linked to the highlights they belong to. Also: import error reporting actually works now (tap Report Issue to send details), Kobo shows real error messages, and the Log Reading sheet scrolls properly on small screens.

Apple Books sync is here in beta. Install the free BookStreak companion app on your Mac, and your Apple Books library syncs automatically. Books, reading sessions, highlights, and audiobook progress all come through. Map your Apple Books collections to BookStreak shelves and keep them in sync. There's a new Continue Reading widget for your home screen. It shows your current book with buttons to log pages, start the timer, or open the book directly. If you're reading more than one, swipe to cycle through them. Autumn Harvest is a new seasonal theme with warm fallen-leaves textures and autumn decorations for your widget bookshelf. Your floating tab bar now picks up seasonal decorations too. Cottagecore and Vintage join as full-bleed widget backgrounds. If you're importing from a CSV and BookStreak can't auto-detect the columns, it now shows a mapping screen so you can match them yourself. Startup is faster. All fonts are now bundled at build time, so the loading delay on first launch is gone. Ambient sound looping is smoother too, with a gap that used to appear between loops now eliminated. Kobo import is more reliable, with support for the latest database format, shelves, ratings, and highlights now included. Also new: auto-sizing text on the journal widget, and better resolution for book covers from search.

Twilight Garden is here. A new scenic theme with hand-drawn flowers and warm twilight colors that extends to your widgets too, filling them edge to edge. Audiobooks got a proper home. Listening time is now tracked in minutes — not pages — with a wheel picker that makes logging natural. Your calendar, stats, and insights all separate listening from reading, and personal bests include your longest listening day. Two new ambient sounds: Water and Guitar. Drop in a CSV and BookStreak figures out if it came from Goodreads, StoryGraph, or LibraryThing on its own. No more picking your source manually. Your widget shelf planks now pick up colors from your chosen theme, and Cherry Blossom, Starlit, and Night Sky backgrounds fill your widget edge to edge for a richer home screen. Long-press any book in your library for quick actions — log, start the timer, mark as finished, and more. Finish a book and hear a celebration sound that matches the mood of your read. Also in this update: a dismiss button for the history reminder, a warning when changing book formats, a redesigned library view sheet, and a pinned Save button on the log sheet. Plus fixes for ambient sound playback, Goodreads import dates, various sync and stability fixes, and more.

Widget Settings is here. A dedicated screen to customize your home screen widgets — pick which books sit on the shelf, choose hand-drawn decorations like a cat, globe, or candle, toggle the streak badge, add a glass border, and set a background texture. A new Heatmap widget shows your last 35 days of reading at a glance. The Journal widget lets you pick a font and content size. Focus Mode brings ambient sounds to the reading timer, a finish prediction based on your pace, and a strip showing your past sessions for context. The timer also remembers which log mode you used last for each book. Your library shelf got a 3D upgrade — book covers now have a spine and top page edge sitting on a wood-grain plank. The Home screen banner scrolls with parallax, and a sticky header appears as you scroll down. The journal has a new empty state with a ghost preview of what your journal will look like, gentle prompts, and a fountain pen illustration. Search results now show series name and position, so you know where a book fits before adding it. You can also remove individual recent searches with a tap. Plus mood icons in the timer summary, responsive font scaling for small screens, and stability fixes.

Reading History is here. If you imported books you finished in the past, BookStreak can now spread those reading sessions across your calendar — filling in the days you likely read them. A prompt appears on your calendar when you have eligible books, and a step-by-step sheet walks you through each one with cover previews. Mood theme is a new Pro appearance option that shifts your app colors based the mood of what you're reading. Goodreads shelf mapping lets you map your Goodreads shelves to BookStreak collections when you connect. Your mappings are saved and reapplied on every sync. Signing in to Goodreads is now a single step — no more double sign-in. Each book now shows up to two insights on its detail page, and the reading timer no longer suggests books you've already finished. Plus fixes for import enrichment, sync reliability, database performance for large libraries, and Goodreads reread parsing.

Goodreads import is smoother. If the connection drops during setup, the app retries automatically instead of making you start over. Your reading calendar now peeks out from the Home screen. A new Calendar Teaser sits right below your reading goal — tap it to jump into the full view. Right-to-left language support got a polish pass — star ratings, the tab bar, and date labels all display correctly in Arabic now. Date and time formatting is locale-aware throughout the app. Plus improved widget performance, and sync reliability improvements.

BookStreak now speaks Portuguese (Brazil) and Arabic, with full right-to-left layout support. Choose your language right from the welcome screen with a new language picker. The calendar header is cleaner — month selector and navigation are now one compact row, giving your reading calendar more room. Settings got reorganized too, with Account & Sync front and center. Your notes on identity share cards now sit on frosted glass panels for a more polished look. This release also fixes keyboard issues in bottom sheets on Android, improves duplicate book detection, makes search chips respond instantly, and resolves several Android crashes. Plus widget reliability improvements, sync fixes, and more.

Reading Calendar is here. A beautiful monthly view with seasonal illustrations, daily reading cells you can tap to expand, and a summary card below each month showing your trends. You can reread books now. Tap Read Again on any finished book to start a fresh read with its own sessions, review, and mood. A Read History section shows how each read compared — when you started, how long it took, and what you thought each time. Rereads from Goodreads and StoryGraph are imported automatically. Your mood now appears as orbiting bubbles around book covers on share cards — warmer and more personal than the old chip row. Share cards got smarter stats. Every card now picks the most interesting numbers from your reading data automatically, so no two cards feel the same. Your past searches are saved and show as chips when you open the search screen. Tap your name or photo on the Home screen to update your profile directly. Turn off background effects on share cards or haptic vibrations from Settings.

Your Monthly Wrap got a fresh look. A clean stat grid, a covers card, and a new Moment card with rising arcs that visualize your reading rhythm through the month. KOReader plugin is out of beta — setup is simpler and ready for everyone. This update also fixes keyboard issues on Android that were blocking text fields and reversing letters across session notes, reviews, and manual book entry. Dark mode launch no longer flashes white on Android. Reading timer notifications are more reliable.

A new Reading Journal widget for your Home Screen shows your latest note, quote, or reflection alongside your book cover. Available on iOS and Android. Your reading timer now lives in a compact floating button with your book cover instead of a full-width bar. More room to browse, same one-tap access to start reading. Finishing a session feels different. Particle animations, floating mood bubbles, and a peek at your reading journey stats make every session worth celebrating. You can now tap the Started or Finished date on any book to change it. Your Finished In stat updates automatically. Guest users can now pick an avatar and banner image without creating an account. Your Home screen shows a projected finish date for your current book. Share cards have a new Auto theme that pulls colors from your book cover. Plus: color-coded status labels, book stats in Library list view, generic CSV import, smaller share card files, and bug fixes.

Series tracking is here. Tap any series to see your full progress, every book in order, and what to read next. Your Library can now group books by series with expand and collapse, and a Continue Your Series card on your Home screen nudges you toward the next book. Shelved books have a new name — Resting. A softer label with a moon icon and a reason picker, because putting a book down is not giving up. A new Insights card shows your resting books and why you paused each one. You can even share a Moved On card with friends. The tab bar got a modern refresh — a floating glass bar that sits above your content. The reader identity system now has eight tiers with animated celebrations and a lifetime progress badge. Your journey from Curious Opener to Transcendent Bibliophile feels more rewarding than ever. Choose your week start day. Pick Monday, Sunday, or any day you like — your streaks, heatmap, and insights all follow. Remember This looks completely different. Your resurfaced notes now show your photo, book cover, and context in a warm atmospheric layout worth revisiting. KOReader readers get auto-sync on page turns, a self-updater, book covers in the notification, and pages-today progress on Android. Plus: smarter book data from Hardcover, standardized cover sizes, better contrast, and a bunch of fixes.

A full-screen reading timer is here. Switch between stopwatch and countdown modes, set a target duration, and get a gentle sound and vibration when your session ends. No more checking the clock. You can now edit any past reading session. Tap a session to change the date, update your page count, or delete it entirely. Mistakes happen — now they're easy to fix. Reading milestones celebrate your personal bests — longest session, biggest reading day, fastest book — with your actual covers and encouraging messages. It's nice to see how far you've come. Imports got a lot smarter. Set your reading pace, see a timeline preview, and your sessions get spread across realistic dates instead of all landing on one day. Your reading history finally looks like your reading history. Your Home Screen widgets just got more useful. Tap any book to log pages, start the timer, or jump straight to the book detail. Share cards have a richer look with atmospheric background textures and refined typography that feels warmer and more bookish. Plus: tap any cover in the Insights heatmap to open that book, switch books in the card editor without leaving, better cover quality, Android polish, and a bunch of fixes.

Mood tracking is here. After each reading session, capture how you're feeling — calm, inspired, reflective, or something else entirely. Your mood shows up on your Home screen, Book Detail, Journal, and share cards, so you can look back and see not just what you read, but how it made you feel. Insights got a complete overhaul. See month-over-month reading trends, your top authors, rating breakdown, format and fiction splits, personal records, lifetime totals, and reading takeaways — all in one beautifully organized screen. Books now show their series name and position — pulled from your imports and enriched automatically. No more guessing which book comes next. Share cards have a fresh look with bold split-zone layouts and gradients pulled directly from your book covers. When you share, a text message now goes with the image too. Reflections and reviews have been unified into one streamlined experience with voice dictation and a visibility toggle for your public profile. Plus: pull-to-refresh everywhere, swipe actions and long-press menus on books, higher-resolution covers, haptic feedback, and a bunch of fixes.

This update fixes an issue where connecting Goodreads could split your data across two accounts, leaving your public profile looking emptier than your actual shelf. We also squashed a sync bug that could leave freshly imported books stranded on your device instead of backing up to the cloud. Everything syncs where it should now. Happy reading!

Your Book Detail screen has been completely redesigned. Open any book to a beautiful cover hero with colour pulled from the artwork, then swipe between Sessions, Journal, Stats, and Details — everything about one book, all in one place. Goodreads sync is here. Sign in with your Goodreads account and your shelves stay in sync automatically — no more manual CSV imports. Audiobooks are now first-class. Log your listening by percent, time remaining, or duration. BookStreak even looks up the total length for you. We redesigned every widget from scratch — cosy bookshelf layouts with your actual covers, favourite books, and a reading heat map. Available in all three sizes on both iOS and Android. Your public profile gets a cover banner, social links, and your currently-reading books. And your profile now matches whichever theme you've chosen in the app. Three new shareable card styles — Verdict, Literary, and Moment — give you fresh ways to share what you're reading and thinking. You can now import from StoryGraph and LibraryThing alongside Goodreads, Kindle and Kobo. And for iPad readers: landscape mode, multitasking, and layouts that feel right on a bigger screen.

Every theme is now free — pick from Warm, Sage, Dusk, Midnight, Ocean, Gothic, and more. Your app, your vibe. We redesigned every shareable card from the ground up. Larger book covers, richer layouts, and beautiful typography that makes your reading look as good as it feels. And all card customization is now completely free — no watermarks, no restrictions. Importing from Goodreads? Book covers are now fetched automatically, so your library looks complete from the start. We also redesigned the sign-in screen, improved background textures, and made the first-session experience smoother — your first book opens the reading log right away, and a gentle prompt helps you save your first reflection. Plus better notifications on Android, fixed card clipping at certain sizes, and a bunch of polish throughout.
