The name literally means "tomatoes" in Arabic — a quiet nod to the little kitchen timer that started the Pomodoro Technique. But we wanted something stricter. Something that would actually hold us to our word when we said "one more hour, I promise."

War Mode (Premium)
The feature we're proudest of, and the one most apps are too polite to ship. Once you enter War Mode, Tamatem locks the door behind you using Apple's Screen Time. No quick peek. No tap-to-skip. No "just this once." Only you, your work, and the timer counting down. Built for the deadlines you cannot miss — the ones where hiding your phone in another room isn't enough anymore. The regular Pomodoro timer stays free.
Focus Shield, powered by Screen Time
Choose the apps that pull you away — Instagram, TikTok, games, whatever breaks your flow. During your focus sessions, Tamatem asks Screen Time to shield them, so they simply won't open until your session ends. Shield up to 3 apps for free; Premium removes the limit and adds whole app categories and all-day blocking. Your Screen Time data never leaves your device — we never see what you use, only that a shield is up.
Pomodoro, your rhythm
Pick your focus intervals, your breaks, your pace. Light sprints, deep hours, or extreme marathons — you set the shape of your day. Pause when life demands it. Skip the break when you're in flow. Stack sessions back-to-back.

Write down what actually matters today. Attach sessions to tasks and watch real progress accumulate, minute by honest minute.
Honest session stats, honest streaks
Daily, weekly, and monthly views of your own focus sessions — how long you sat with the timer, how many you finished, how your streak is holding. Streaks that reward showing up, not gaming the system. Premium adds the full-year view and Insights on when you focus best.
Sounds to steady you
Rain, deep ocean, white noise, gentle static — a library of ambient soundscapes you download once and play offline. Preview any sound for free; the full library comes with Premium.
Your backup, your iCloud (Premium)
Your data is encrypted on your device, then backed up to your own iCloud — not our servers, not our database. Restore on a new iPhone signed in to the same iCloud and Tamatem accounts. Delete whenever you want. It has always been yours.

Tamatem is free to use. Premium is an optional auto-renewing monthly or yearly subscription; eligible plans may include a free trial. Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase, and the subscription renews unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the current period ends. Manage or cancel it in your Apple Account settings.
