AllertaMeteo brings together official alerts, the national radar, weather forecasts and community reports for the places that matter to you.
OFFICIAL ALERTS FOR YOUR PLACES
Choose one or more municipalities or entire regions: home, work, travel destinations and the places where the people you care about live. For each place you can see:
• today's and tomorrow's alert level;
• the expected phenomena and risks;
• the validity period;
• the alert zones involved;
• the original Civil Protection bulletin;
• any notices published by the municipality.
With the national alert map and the daily Criticality bulletin from the Civil Protection Department, you have all of Italy at a glance.
AREAS WITHIN YOUR MUNICIPALITY, TARGETED NOTIFICATIONS
Within each municipality, choose the areas to keep an eye on, such as home, work or school: search for an address or move the pin on the map, satellite view included. Decide which municipalities and regions should send you notifications and, for nowcasting, whether you want to be alerted to thunderstorms, hail or both. No duplicates: the most specific information wins, and important updates stay in the Notification centre.
EMERGENCY ALERTS
In the most serious situations, such as a red alert or an urgent notice from your municipality, you receive an Emergency Alert that sounds even when your phone is on silent or in Do Not Disturb, if you give it permission.
RADAR, LIGHTNING AND NOWCASTING
Explore the national radar, updated every five minutes and animated on a timeline. Turn on the lightning, wind and rainfall layers for the last 1, 3, 6, 12 or 24 hours and, with Premium, hail probability. Nowcasting estimates where storms will move over the next few minutes and can warn you when thunderstorms or hail are approaching the places you follow. It is a forecast estimate and does not replace official alerts.
COMMUNITY
Report what is happening where you are, such as hail, a cloudburst, a thunderstorm or strong wind, and add a photo: reports appear in ongoing events and help the people who live near you. With "Report the weather" you share what the sky is like right now in your municipality.
NEW WEATHER SECTION
For every municipality you'll find the current weather, hour-by-hour forecasts and the next 7 days, plus the history: temperature, precipitation, wind and hours of sunshine for the period you choose, compared with the average of the last thirty years.
WIDGETS AND APPLE WATCH
Check the alert level without opening the app:
• configurable Home Screen widgets;
• Lock Screen widgets;
• an Apple Watch app with the zones you follow;
• complications to see the most relevant situation at a glance.
DESIGNED TO BE CLEAR
Levels, colours and shapes show the severity of an alert straight away. Share the situation of a municipality or region with a link and report incorrect or missing data. AllertaMeteo is available in Italian, English and German and follows your phone's language.
FREE, WITH AN ACCOUNT OR PREMIUM
The app works without an account and follows one municipality for free. With a free account you can follow regions, find your places on all your devices and send reports and photos. AllertaMeteo Premium unlocks unlimited municipalities and more areas to monitor, removes ads, and adds hail to the radar, the alert history, the weather for any municipality in Italy and a Home laid out your way.
