Improved Plus purchase and refund handling. Clearer lightning coverage information and more accurate French translations.

Updated artwork for the New York City, Delaware and Kansas flags.

Cities show their state or province flag in many more countries, including Canada, Brazil, Mexico, Argentina, Switzerland and Spain. Where a region has no flag of its own, you see the country’s flag instead of a globe. Your current location now names its state or region the same way a saved city there does.

If you downloaded Dual Degree between June 28 and September 18, 2026, Plus is now yours for life at no cost. Your current location stays up to date whenever you return to the app, and it shows its neighborhood, or its distance from a saved city with the same name, so the two are easy to tell apart. State and province names are spelled out, such as Texas instead of TX. Distances now lead with the unit from your Distance & Wind setting, with the other unit in parentheses, including on the lightning Lock Screen widget.

Tapping anywhere on a city in the search results now adds it. Before, a tap between the city name and the arrow did nothing. Search results also show each city's seal or coat of arms.

The sample cities New York and Barcelona are now removed if you use your current location or have added cities of your own. A sample city shown on a widget stays. Numbers use your language's decimal separator, long condition names wrap instead of being cut off, and the app no longer waits for Location Services when it opens. Error and Plus messages now follow the language chosen in the app, and several translations are corrected.

The next-hour rain forecast now shows the correct time for rain to start. Before, the time shown could be up to 15 minutes late. Lightning and rain alerts are no longer sent for the sample cities New York and Barcelona. To get alerts for one of them, add it from search.

The round badge next to each city now shows its official seal or coat of arms for thousands of cities. Also fixes state and province flags for cities added through search, which could show the country flag instead.

Adds privacy-preserving Apple Ads attribution to measure campaign results without using IDFA or cross-app tracking. Also includes reliability improvements.

Improves Plus access controls for detailed pollutant readings across the top weather panel and widgets. Also refreshes the App Store subtitle to describe Dual Degree more clearly as a Celsius and Fahrenheit weather app.

Corrects legacy purchase recognition for Dual Degree Plus. Customers who paid to download Dual Degree while it was a paid app keep permanent Plus access; downloads from the earlier free period remain on the Free plan.

Introducing Dual Degree Plus, an optional upgrade with 15-day forecasts, unlimited saved cities, advanced widgets, detailed air quality, and rain and lightning alerts. Core dual-temperature forecasts remain free and ad-free. Choose lifetime, annual, or monthly; annual includes a 7-day free trial for eligible new subscribers. If you bought Dual Degree before it became free, you keep Plus permanently.

This version adds Traditional Chinese, so Dual Degree now comes in thirteen languages. Apple Maps and Google Maps now go by their names in your language, and Settings and the widget editor now correctly say that medium widgets show all four metrics. In Chinese, Japanese, and Korean on a 12-hour clock, hour labels in widgets no longer get cut off.

Dual Degree is now free, with no subscription, no in-app purchases, and no ads. This version adds Russian and Ukrainian, and on iPad the weather screen uses two columns in landscape. Unit labels, wind directions, the location permission prompt, and lightning and rain alerts now appear in your language.

Lightning and rain alerts now keep working. The app re-registers for notifications each time it opens, so alerts no longer go quiet after a few weeks. City search now finds places when you type in your own script, including Korean, Japanese, Chinese and Greek, and it gives up quickly instead of hanging when a lookup can't be reached.

Fixed the big temperature sometimes breaking onto two lines, and the app now grabs a fresh reading whenever you open it, so you're never looking at an old temp. Widgets update right after a refresh too. Thanks to Paolo Garcia for the great bug reports!

- Every temperature is now labeled: a small ACTUAL or FEELS LIKE tag sits above the second scale, so you always know which reading you're seeing, in the app and across all widgets - Minor refinements and fixes

- Widgets can now follow your current location, and a badge marks it on the home screen - Rain alerts: choose which cities to watch - Tap the coordinates in Details to copy them

The hourly forecast now returns to the current hour when you reopen the app.

Flag improvements: US state flags now built in. Widget layout fixes.

The rain panel is now a real chart: expected rainfall against a labeled axis, minute-by-minute chance of rain, and touch to read exact values. Widgets add a rain countdown, up to four metrics of your choice, and three new metrics: wind gusts, ozone, and NO2. The large widget now fits 18 hours of forecast. Also: brighter weather icons, flags in widgets, and a fix for the app forgetting your selected city.

New: severe weather alerts, a minute-by-minute forecast of the next hour of rain or snow (in the app and in widgets), and optional notifications just before rain starts at a saved city. Widgets now always show the same temperatures as the app.

Visual fixes and a new lightning alert distance setting.

Bug fixes and performance improvements.

Bug fixes and polish: - Granting location access on first launch now resolves your current city immediately, no relaunch needed. - New "Use my location" row in Settings if you ever need to re-enable it. - New radar-sweep loading animation.
