more Groundwork
A chain's invitation links now carry an extra piece of information, which will soon be used to better protect access to your chains.
Nothing changes in how you use the app: you share and join exactly as before, and links you've already sent keep working.

See what's coming at a glance
On the Home screen, the Tehilim chain, Hazkara (119) and Birthday cards now show a badge when something needs your attention.
• Birthdays and azkarot falling within the next seven days.
• Chains still in progress.
It isn't an inventory: the badge doesn't count what you've saved, it flags what's coming up. Nothing to flag, no badge — Home stays quiet.
Those seven days are the same window as the app's reminders: what the badge announces, the notification will repeat.

Every reading setting in one place
A single “Aa” icon at the top of the screen now gathers everything that shapes the text:
• Text size.
• Hebrew or phonetic, in one tap.
• Translation.
• Commentaries (Rashi, Metzudat David).
Until now these were split between two toolbar buttons and the Settings screen, two screens away from your reading.
Translation now stays on. It used to switch itself off as soon as you moved to the next Tehilim — the setting only applied to the open page. It now follows you from one Tehilim to the next, and from one session to the next.
1.22.0 Aug 11
How long it takes
Reading time now appears while you're choosing, not only once a Tehilim is open.
• In the lists: each Tehilim's length next to its verse count — “28 verses · ~2 min”.
• In the Books tab: the length of a whole book — “Book 1 · 1–41 · ~44 min”.
• In Today: the day's total at the top of “On the schedule”, plus the length of each Tehilim.
The total follows your reading mode. That's where it helps most: in the monthly cycle, day 25 holds a single Tehilim — but it's 119, and it takes about 9 minutes. The count alone never said so.
Fix: on a chain's screen, the participant list no longer makes the screen slide sideways.
1.21.0 Aug 11
Follow a chain live
Start live tracking from a chain's “…” menu: its progress appears on your Lock Screen and in the Dynamic Island, without reopening the app.
• Tehilim taken, Tehilim read, participants, and time left before the deadline.
• Your own share: “8 Tehilim left for you”, or “Your share is read”.
• The numbers update on their own, even with the app closed: as soon as someone takes a Tehilim or marks one as read, the display follows.
• You choose when to start and stop it. It ends by itself when the chain closes.
Your usual notifications are unchanged.
1.20.2 Aug 4
New — Daytime or evening
The Hebrew day begins at sunset. You can now specify whether a passing or a birth took place during the day or in the evening: the Hebrew date, the azcara, the birthday and the reminders all follow.
Your saved prayers and birthdays are left untouched.
Improvements
• The daytime/evening setting travels with shared links, so the person you share with sees the same date you do.
• Dark theme: cards in “My prayers”, in Search and in the iPad sidebar are back to the app's navy blue.
• Empty screens no longer show up pure black.
• Creating a birthday now opens its page straight away.
• “Invite participants” no longer appears before you have joined the chain.

The verse of your name, finally displayed properly
The previous version introduced this card with three flaws you may have run into: the verse appeared in a different font from the reader, it was not aligned to the right, and longer verses were cut off. All three are fixed.
The verse now uses exactly the font and reading size you set for the Tehilim — it is the same sacred text, there is no reason for it to look different. The card adjusts to the verse on screen, with no blank space and nothing cut off, and both letters of the name stand out clearly.
Tehilim chain: a clearer screen
The header brings together in a single card what was spread across four. "Invite participants" now stays visible as long as the chain is open, and the chain owner's controls are grouped into one menu.
1.18.8 Jul 30
The verse of your name
On a birthday whose first name is written in Hebrew, the app now shows the verses that begin with the first letter of the name and end with its last letter — following the custom of the verse recited at the end of the Amidah. Swipe from one verse to the next: both letters are highlighted, with the translation and direct access to the Tehilim.
Reading times that finally help
The estimate said "about 1 minute" for most of the Tehilim, even though some take only a few seconds. It now distinguishes ten durations, starting at 10 seconds. And in "I read", you see the time you actually have left: "12 Tehilim left · about 14 min".
A clearer Tehilim chain
A Tehilim already taken by another participant is now easy to tell apart from a free one. The grid takes on colour as chapters are reserved, then deepens as they are read.
Fixes
• Changing the app language no longer replays the import of the last link received.
• The home screen no longer shows an empty Favourites card.
1.18.7 Jul 29
• Share your chain summary as an image: who has already read, who still needs to read, with a gentle reminder — plus a QR code to join in a single scan. Now available to every participant, not just the creator.
• The prayers before and after reading are now right at hand in "I read".
• Each chain takes on the color of its intention (Refoua Shelema, Zivoug, Success, Leilouy Nishmat).
• A more consistent, polished look in both light and dark mode.
Thank you for using Tehilim

1.15 Jun 12
This update brings several improvements to the reading experience: Shabbat end time is now based on nightfall according to your location, the Shabbat screen now displays both start and end times, the English translation has been completed, the app now falls back to English when the system language is neither French nor English.
1.12.1 Jun 1
This update introduces Shabbat mode.
SHABBAT MODE
During Shabbat, the app and widget give way to a peaceful "Chabbat Chalom" screen instead of the usual content.
The start (candle lighting) and end (nightfall) are computed automatically from your location and the date — accurate to the minute, wherever you are.
The end-of-Shabbat time is shown clearly.
LOCATION
The calculation uses GPS (if you allow it) or the city you choose in Settings. Your location is never stored or shared.
FLEXIBLE
Shabbat mode can be turned on or off in Settings, and a discreet "Continue anyway" button is always available.
This update is dedicated in memory of Johann Meïr ben Sarah Bouganim ז״ל.
1.12 May 31
This update focuses on remembrance of the departed and the Hebrew reading experience.
COMMEMORATION (AZCARA)
Add a date of death to your Lelouy Nichmat and the app automatically computes the next azcara, following traditional rules: Adar / Adar II in leap years, Heshvan 30, Kislev 30, etc.
Receive a reminder 7 days before and on the day itself, via local notifications.
My Prayers is now sorted by upcoming azcara, with an asterisk reminding you that the Hebrew day begins the previous evening.
TEHILIM 119
The 22-letter grid now follows the Hebrew reading direction: Aleph top-right, Tav bottom-left.
LELOUY NICHMAT FORM
The "Next" key on the Hebrew keyboard automatically chains the departed's first name and the mother's first name, without dismissing the keyboard.
FULL ENGLISH
Several pages remained in French when in English mode. Now fully translated: Tehilim 119, Lelouy Nichmat (form, list, detail), Life Cases counter. The selected language is correctly saved when the app closes.
UX & POLISH
• My Prayers: bell badge highlights active reminders, deletion accessible via the "Edit" button (native Mail / Notes pattern).
• The loading screen respects the light/dark theme chosen in Settings — no more color flash on launch.
• Various azcara calculation fixes: Apple Hebrew month indexing, midnight transition, display refresh.
This update is dedicated in memory of Johann Meïr ben Sarah Bouganim ז״ל.
