Fragrance Formulator is an AI-assisted perfume design studio for
indie and hobbyist perfumers, designed for iPad and runs natively
on Apple Silicon Macs.
Build formulas by hand or let AI do the structural heavy lifting.
Load a PDF, CSV, or XLSX of an existing formula and have every
ingredient cross-referenced against your personal raw-materials
inventory. Each line tells you whether you already own it, can
substitute it from what's in stock (with confidence scores and
mix ratios), or need to buy it.
CREATE
• Create Formula — build a formula ingredient by ingredient with
autocomplete from your inventory, or import an existing one
from PDF / CSV / XLSX.
• Create using AI — a guided wizard takes you through gender,
day-or-night, a base direction, and up to two key notes
(each with refreshable AI suggestions). Claude composes a
complete 18–22 ingredient formula structured around proven
perfumery accords, with sensible dose ranges and a clear
identity. Every result is IFRA 51st-Amendment Category 4
compliant for leave-on skin application.
ANALYSE
• Formula Check — drop in any formula file and have it analysed
against your inventory. Streams results back ingredient by
ingredient with substitute suggestions and confidence scores.
Cost estimate shown before each run.
• Fragrance Overview — a Fragrantica-style analysis of any of
your formulas. Get a written scent profile, main accords,
when-to-wear scores, perfume pyramid colour-coded by note,
plus longevity / sillage / gender scales — and a poetic
inspiration map showing the real-world origins of the
dominant raw materials. Export the whole thing as a polished
PDF with one of three name suggestions.
ORGANISE
• Mix — save formulas, label them with colour swatches, group
them into custom folders, track which ingredients you've
already weighed out.
• Created — log every actual batch you've mixed with creation
date, batch grams, concentration percentage, alcohol weight,
and a default maturation timeline (alcohol added +14 days,
maceration complete +60 days after that). Sort by any column.
• Inventory — searchable record of every material you own with
weights, suppliers, and notes. Import / export CSV.
• Shopping List — automatically populated from "Buy" results,
with Ordered / Received tracking and one-tap "add to inventory"
when stock arrives.
ICLOUD SYNC
Your formulas, folders, batches, inventory, and shopping list
sync automatically across all your iPads (and Apple Silicon Macs
running iPad apps) via your private iCloud account.
CREDIT-BASED AI
AI features use a simple credit system bought via In-App Purchase
— no subscriptions, no surprises. Every AI action shows its credit
cost before you commit. Suggestions inside the AI wizard are
included in the wizard's fee. Three credit pack sizes available
to suit casual experiments or working perfumers.
