Main new features: • Golden Blocks Rare golden blocks can now appear during gameplay. They keep the same visual style as classic blocks, but with a gold color, a glowing halo, and a GOLD label so you can identify them instantly. Place a Golden Block successfully to earn bonus points. Land a Perfect on a Golden Block to trigger an even bigger reward, with dedicated visual effects, particles, and a special sound. • Overdrive Overdrive rewards precise players. Chain several Perfect placements in a row to activate a temporary high-energy state with a score multiplier, stronger visual effects, and a boosted arcade feel. A dedicated banner announces the activation, then a compact timer shows how long Overdrive remains without blocking the blocks. • Complete Pause System The pause system has been fully improved. You can now pause manually, and Toolate also pauses automatically during interruptions: phone calls, screen lock, app switching, or when the app goes to the background. Resuming uses a clear 3, 2, 1, GO countdown to prevent unfair losses. • Cleaner Interface Visual feedback has been reworked to support the gameplay more clearly. Combo, Speed Up, and Overdrive animations are now easier to read, more compact, and better positioned so they do not cover the blocks during action. The HUD keeps Toolate’s neon arcade identity while feeling cleaner and more polished. • French / English Localization Toolate now supports both French and English. The app automatically detects your iPhone language and falls back to English if your language is not supported yet. You can also manually choose your language in the settings, and your preference is saved across sessions. • What’s New Screen A new What’s New screen presents the most important changes in each version. It appears once after an update and remains accessible from the settings. • Update Check Toolate can now check whether a newer version is available on the App Store. If an update exists, a dedicated prompt lets you open the App Store quickly. • Sound, Haptics, and Polish Sound and haptic feedback have been refined, especially for Golden Blocks, Overdrive, and key gameplay actions. Several animations were adjusted to feel more premium while keeping the experience smooth. • Fixes and Stability This version also includes bug fixes, better interruption handling, balancing adjustments, and general optimizations to keep gameplay stable and fluid. Every action has its own sound: a satisfying “thock” for block placement, a bright chime for Perfect moves, escalating audio for combos, and a retro game-over jingle. An 8-bit background soundtrack accompanies every run and speeds up as the game gets faster. Everything is generated in real time with no audio files, keeping the app lightweight on your device. **Visual Effects & Gameplay Feedback** The screen shakes with every block placement to enhance impact. Perfect placements trigger bright particle explosions, while a Miss creates falling debris effects. Flames appear around the score when your combo reaches 5 or more. A new high score triggers a confetti celebration. Milestone announcements celebrate reaching 10, 25, 50, and 100 blocks. The camera dynamically zooms when entering a new speed zone, and achieving 5 Perfect placements in a row activates a rewarding slow-motion effect. **Global Leaderboard** Compete with players worldwide through an online leaderboard. Create your unique nickname and aim for the Top 10. Scores are automatically submitted after each game, and rankings appear directly on the game over screen. A dedicated menu button lets you access the leaderboard anytime. Communication is secured with HMAC signatures and suspicious scores are automatically detected. **Game Modes** In addition to Classic mode, two new modes are now available. Zen Mode removes game over entirely — play endlessly to relax and improve your timing without pressure. Challenge Mode 30s gives you exactly 30 seconds to achieve the highest score possible — perfect for fast and intense sessions. Each mode tracks its own high score. **FR / EN Localization** The game is fully available in French and English. Language is automatically detected based on your iPhone settings, and can also be changed manually in the game settings. **Speed Zones** Difficulty now progresses through visible stages. Each speed zone is introduced with an on-screen banner, camera zoom, and music acceleration. The pace increases progressively to keep the challenge engaging from start to finish. **Improved Interface** The HUD now displays your score, combo multiplier, and crowned high score in real time. Placement feedback (Perfect, Great, Good, Miss) is clearly shown with distinct colors. The game over screen now summarizes your performance with detailed statistics, special new-record animations, and integrated world rankings.
