Open anything: Markdown, plain text, Swift, Python, TypeScript, JSON, YAML, TOML, HTML, SQL, shell scripts, and more. Paperforge picks the right mode automatically. Rich text and Word documents open as formatted text. PDFs open directly in the app for reading and annotation.
Markdown files get live syntax highlighting — headings, bold, italic, inline code, fenced blocks, links, block quotes, and strikethrough — all rendered in your editor, not in a separate preview pane.
AI Draft Generation — On Device
Describe what you need, and Paperforge generates a complete document draft using Apple's on-device language model. No data leaves your Mac. No API key required.
Tell Paperforge the type of document (blog post, README, technical doc, meeting notes, email, essay), pick your tone and length, choose your output format (Markdown, plain text, or HTML), and hit Generate. Review the draft, tweak the prompt, and drop it straight into your document.
Works on macOS 26 and later with Apple Intelligence enabled.
Git — Without Leaving the Editor
Stage files, write commit messages, and push — all from the integrated Git sidebar. See which files have changed, review diffs inline, and manage branches without switching to Terminal. The inspector panel shows commit history and diff statistics for the active file.
