I’ve tried almost every Tor + VPN combination available on iOS and most of them either lag like crazy or disconnect every 10 minutes. Onion Knight is the first one that feels solid. The Tor over VPN mode is what sold me — I can keep my regular VPN and still route Tor through it without any drama. Browser speed is surprisingly good for Tor, design is clean and modern, and I’ve been using it daily for three weeks with zero crashes. As someone who works in infosec this is the first mobile Tor client I actually recommend to colleagues.
Professional grade without the pain

I evaluate a lot of privacy tools for work. Onion Knight is one of the few mobile solutions that doesn’t feel like a compromise. Multiple modes (especially Tor over VPN) give real flexibility. Performance is strong for a Tor-based browser, design is modern and restrained, and reliability has been excellent over several weeks of daily use. No random disconnects, no mysterious freezes. This is what I wish more privacy apps were like.
Finally something that doesn’t śuck

I live in a place with aggressive censorship and I’ve burned through way too many “privacy” apps that stop working after a week. Onion Knight has been rock solid. The Tor over VPN mode is a game changer for me. Speed is better than I expected from Tor, the interface is actually nice to look at, and the app doesn’t crash or drop connections. Feels like a real product instead of a side project. Really happy I found this.
Surprisingly polished and fast

Most Tor browsers on mobile feel like science experiments. This one feels finished. Tor over VPN works exactly as advertised, which is rare. The browser is noticeably snappier than other Tor clients I’ve tried. Design is clean and dark theme looks great. I’ve had zero connectivity issues so far. As a college student who cares about privacy but still wants things to just work, this is perfect. Definitely staying subscribed.
This update is all about stability and your Tor experience:
• Fixed a crash some users hit when stopping the Tor session or returning from the background on iOS 26 — the app is now reliably stable.
• New: see your live Tor circuit. The info panel now shows your real 3‑relay path (guard → middle → exit) with country flags and roles, right on the map.
• Redesigned Tor and VPN info panels with cleaner controls and a smoother open/close.
• More reliable connections: fewer "Tor stopped working" interruptions, now with automatic recovery.
• Privacy: your exit location is determined on your device — we removed a third‑party lookup.
Thank you for using Onion Knight.
