WHY I BUILT THIS APP:
As I was finding my way back to being healthy, I found a lot of peace and comfort in listening to the bird songs in my backyard. It sparked my curiosity to discover which birds were singing, so I built this app for myself at first. Soon I realized I was surrounded by Northern Mockingbirds, Northern Cardinals, Carolina Wrens, and even beautiful Painted Buntings. I started learning about them and discovered an entirely new world living quietly around us.
Bird songs brought me a sense of calm that I couldn't fully explain at first. Later, I learned there may be a reason for it. Many bird songs fall within gentle, high-frequency ranges that people often perceive as calming and pleasant. Researchers have also found that natural sounds like birdsong can help reduce stress, improve mood, and create a stronger feeling of connection with nature. What began as a small personal project slowly became part of my daily mindfulness and healing.
