• A gentle heads-up before your free trial ends. If you're on a free trial and notifications are on, the app now lets you know a day or two before it ends, so you have time to decide. • Smoother Stories. Captions no longer make the Story pause for a moment when a new line begins.

• Now on iPad. Everyday A Painting runs as a full iPad app in every orientation, and the painting of the day grows to fill the larger screen. • Ready for iPhone Duo. Open it, fold it or leave it partly open: Today, Stories and your collection fit each way, and folding keeps your place. • Never miss the next painting. The countdown to the next painting now always appears on Today, and once today's painting is revealed the app opens on it. • Stories in your language. Story captions now display correctly in every language, including Japanese, Chinese, Korean, Arabic, Hebrew, Hindi, Thai and Vietnamese. • Cleaner Story openings. The faint line that could appear above a Story's title is gone. • Paintings stay offline after updates. Paintings saved on your device stay available after an app update instead of downloading again. • Tidier on large screens. The welcome screen, the featured exhibition and painting tags now fit properly on wide and tall windows.

• Faster, smoother reveals. Uncover paintings with a 30% shorter hold, with improved performance for the first painting you reveal after opening the app. • Lighter on memory. The app no longer holds on to every painting you've browsed, so it uses far less memory however far back you go. • New museum cards. Painting details now include a “See it in person” card with a museum photo. Tap it to open the museum's page in the app. • Explore museums. Browse the paintings you've discovered from each museum in a neat grid and see how many are still to unlock. Plan a visit with locations and free-entry days and times where available, plus official links for opening hours, tickets and prices. • See the whole painting first. Each Story now opens with the full artwork, its title, artist and year before taking you through the details. • Smoother openings. A painting now grows from its card into the full artwork in one continuous move, and glides back to its card when you close. Painting details ease into their first close-up instead of jumping. • A Story ending that remembers. When you finish a Story, a fine line traces every detail you visited, then the painting settles into its frame. • A livelier countdown. The finished-Story screen now drifts gently while you wait for the next painting, and the sun and moon on the countdown arc always appear whole. • Links that work every time. Sign-in and password-reset links now open the app correctly, even when it was closed. • A refreshed look. A new, unified palette gives the home screen, Stories, painting details and museum pages a cleaner, more consistent design, with smoother image transitions. • Clearer credits and sources. Painting details now bring image credits, sources and content advisories together in a cleaner section. Tap to read the full image credits. • More reliable navigation. Fixed issues with closing painting details, opening museums and keeping your place when going back. • Easier feedback. A quick App Store rating prompt can now appear after you finish a Story.
