Spelling practice built from your child’s own school list. Daily reminders, sound-by-sound early years practice, and a checkpoint that shows what has really stuck.
Spelling.Live turns your child's weekly school spelling list into five calm minutes a day.
Photograph their list, or pick one of ours, and your child practises those exact words by writing, typing, saying or choosing them, on screen or on paper. When they get stuck, help arrives one step at a time, so they can work out and finish the word themselves.
PRACTISE THIS WEEK. REMEMBER IT LATER.
Spelling.Live doesn't just prepare children for Friday's test. Words and spelling patterns come back at the right time, and a three-week checkpoint checks whether they've really stuck, including whether your child can use the same pattern in words they've never been given before.
WHY FAMILIES USE IT
• Their real school spellings, not just generic word lists
• Five-minute practice sessions that fit around family life
• Writing, typing, speaking and choosing, so children can practise in different ways
• Snap a photo of their spelling test and have it marked for you
• Handwriting checked as they write on screen
• Step-by-step help when they're stuck, without simply giving them the answer
• Words return before they're forgotten
• Three-week checkpoints show which spelling patterns have really stuck
• Weekly progress emails show how they're doing and what needs more practice
• Practice reminders can be set for each child
• Games and coins they earn by practising first
FROM FIRST SOUNDS TO 11+
Start with Reception phonics, Sound Parts and early VC and CVC words, then move through curriculum spelling patterns, KS2 statutory words and 11+ practice.
Use your child's school list or choose from built-in UK curriculum word lists and spelling patterns.

UK, US, Australian and Indian English are supported.
FOR TEACHERS

Daily practice reminders
Choose a time and days for each child, and this phone or tablet will remind them to practise. Days they've already practised are skipped, brothers and sisters due at the same time share one reminder, and nothing is sent to us. Find reminders in your child's settings under Safety & sharing.
Sound Parts, new for early years
Your child hears a word from their list and builds it sound by sound, hearing each sound as they tap. Then the word is read back one sound at a time.
The three-week checkpoint
A short check to see which spelling patterns have really stuck. Can your child still spell the words they learned, and can they use the same pattern in words they've never been given? Patterns that need more work come back into practice.
Also new
• Reception word lists, from VC and CVC words to the first tricky words
• Pick it now uses the kinds of misspellings children really make
• Earlier handwriting attempts are kept in the Writing report
• A calmer practice screen with clearer icons
• Bug fixes and improvements
