Compression may render pages into image-backed PDF pages. This can make scanned or image-heavy documents much smaller, but may remove selectable text, annotations, forms, links, metadata, and layers. Always check exported files before deleting originals. Scanned PDFs are image-backed documents created from camera captures. Page editing exports a new PDF copy with reordered, rotated, or removed pages; it does not edit existing text in the original PDF. Watermarks and signatures are visual marks added to a new PDF copy on your device. They are not certificate-based digital signatures.
