Your progress is finally visible The levels were always there, you just couldn't see them. The end-of-round screen now shows the level you're on, how far into it you've come, and how many correct answers are left — and you watch the bar travel from where you started the round. • A progress bar on the mode cards, on home and on your profile • Levelling up announces itself as it happens, instead of happening in silence • A locked glimpse of what the next level asks • A new mastery ladder on your profile: all ten rungs, named, with your place on it • Progress over time per mode, and how much faster you answer than a month ago Levels are earned now Filling the bar now offers you a short level test: five questions drawn from the level above, four correct to move up. Fail it and you lose nothing — keep playing and try again. • Only questions at your own level or above count toward the next one • A wrong answer costs you a step, so guessing quickly doesn't pay • A level takes a few more correct answers than it used to The score adds up The end-of-round screen and the leaderboard were showing two different numbers for the same round. Now there's one number, on a scale you can read without knowing the formula: one correct answer at level 1 is one point. Harder levels and quick answers count for more, but speed can no longer drown out everything else. Your total will look smaller than before. Every past result has been recalculated on exactly the same scale, so the leaderboard is as fair as it was — the numbers are just smaller. The streak reminder now tells you what you're close to, when you're close to something. A reason to come back tomorrow The end-of-round screen showed your score and pointed nowhere. Your streak now sits there too, along with what tomorrow adds to it: on day one it names the target — tomorrow makes it two. The day before a milestone, it names the milestone. • The activity feed covers more of what actually happens: when you or a friend keeps a streak going, when someone reaches a new level, and when the daily challenge changes mode • The mode list shows how many questions each mode holds • Levels are just "Level 6" now. The school grade is gone — difficulty isn't written against a curriculum, so it shouldn't borrow authority from one • A level takes 50 correct answers, up from 40. The level test and the own-level-only rule turned out to slow things less than expected
