Velm is a hyperlocal group chat app for the strangers within 100 meters of you. Walk into a coffee shop, a stadium, a transit hub, a neighborhood block — you'll see who's chatting nearby, and you can join in. WHY VELM IS DIFFERENT Every group only exists within a 100-meter circle. Walk away, and the group quietly fades for you. Everyone in a group sees you as a temporary identity — a random emoji animal name like "Blue Dolphin" or "Quiet Fox". Your real name, photo, and bio are completely hidden by default. When you click with someone and want to keep talking beyond the moment, both of you can choose to exchange your real "main identity". After two-way consent, you both see each other's real card in that group. Anyone else still sees the temporary identity. You can revoke the exchange anytime — silently, no notification — and the other side will simply stop seeing your real card.
