Maps that keep up with your finger Every map in the app pans smoothly now. Dragging used to feel heavy — the map trailed behind your finger and sometimes froze for half a second — on Explore, when placing a new restaurant's pin, and when linking a restaurant to a post. The map has a new look to go with it: the same streets and places, drawn in a lighter style. In Taiwan, labels now show both the Chinese name and its Latin spelling. Address search works exactly as before. See the restaurant before you link it When you link a restaurant to a post, each one now shows its photo — in the list, in map search, and on the card that opens when you tap a pin. On the map, tap a pin and swipe: the nearest restaurants line up beside it, and the map glides to each one as you go. Your points, somewhere to spend them A restaurant that takes points now says so on its own profile. A card under the name lists what your points buy there, with a Redeem button when you have enough and how far off you are when you don't — so you know before you order, not after. A rewards store you can actually read The store is a photo grid now instead of a list of lines. The partner's food, the price in points, and for the ones out of reach, how many points you still need. Your balance sits in a card at the top. A reward can also carry its own photo, in the store and on the voucher you show at the counter. And the store is no longer empty if your phone is somewhere the partners aren't. It lists everything, follows your phone's country when that country has rewards, and says where a reward can be claimed. Notification switches that do something Following twenty busy accounts used to mean a push for every post they made, and the only way to stop it was silencing Vegigo entirely — which also silenced replies to your own posts. Posts from people you follow, likes, comments and new followers can each be turned off on their own now. Mentions stay on.

Points you can trust, notifications you control, and a clearer map. Points you can trust The Post button now shows exactly what a post will earn. The app used to work that number out itself, so it went wrong whenever the rules changed. It now asks, so the number matches what you are actually paid. When nothing can be quoted, it shows nothing rather than guess. Underneath, it names the one thing most worth adding: the restaurant, or a photo. Notifications you control Posts from people you follow, likes, comments and new followers can each be switched off on their own in Settings. Before, the only way to stop a flood of pushes was to silence Vegigo entirely, which also silenced replies to your own posts. Mentions stay on. Your language, on the screens you use most The composer and the post view now read in your own language. Malls and hawker centres on the map Restaurants sharing one address now show as one numbered pin. Tap it and pick the place you meant. For local guides Starting another pick list is visible again, even after a list has been published in your city. Fixed - Food tags are capped at three per post, and the composer now says so instead of silently dropping the rest. - A post no longer counts more tags on the restaurant than it shows. - A post tagged with a plain place name no longer pretends to be an event, or answers a tap with "Could not load event". - If a moderator hides one of your posts, you are told. - Videos that leave empty space beside them in a post with several photos or videos now sit on a soft blur instead of black bars.

Adding a place you love should take a minute, not a form. Paste a Google Maps link Found the restaurant on Google Maps? Paste the link at the top of the form and the name, the pin and the address fill themselves in. Check it, tap add, done. Search that finds places, not just streets Searching for a shop by name now actually finds it, and you can tap a shop's name on the map to put the pin on it. Typing a full address with a house number no longer sends you to the wrong country, and common street names show the one in your city first. The add button where you'd look for it "Add restaurant" is now on the + button, at the top of Nearby, and on any search that comes up empty — with whatever you typed already filled in as the name. You'll know what happened to it A place you add now says "Waiting for review" until it's approved, instead of looking like nothing happened. Read the whole app, whatever language it's written in "See translation" now appears on posts in the feed and on event descriptions, not only once you've opened a post. Tapping it swaps the text for the translation where it sits, so you don't have to scroll past words you can't read; "Show original" puts it back. 简体中文 Simplified Chinese is now one of the app's languages. Pick it in Settings, or leave it to follow your phone. Dietary tags in your language Tags now read in your own language everywhere — on restaurants, posts, search and the feed — not only in the filter. We added 蛋素 (eggs, no dairy), and retired two labels that meant different things to different people. Vegan, Ovo, Lacto and Lacto-ovo now each have exactly one meaning, which is the whole point of Vegigo. Fixed - Your own dietary preferences were shown in English no matter what language you used — in Settings and in the Explore diet filters. - The Local tab was labelled the same as Nearby in Traditional Chinese. - A place already on Vegigo now shows up while you're adding, so you open it instead of adding it twice. - Pasting a Google Maps link and then checking the pin could show your own location instead of the place you pasted.

An in-app restaurant map, browsable hashtags, and one-tap follow. - New: see a restaurant's exact spot on an in-app map — no more jumping to Google Maps. - New: "#" suggests hashtags as you type; browse one as a photo grid. - New: tap a post's like count to see who liked it. - Fixed: videos over a minute failing to upload, and a few rare crashes.

A smoother map, an in-app restaurant locator, and real hashtags you can browse. Look around without losing the view On the map, the restaurant and event cards at the bottom now step out of the way while you're dragging around — no more losing half the screen exactly when you're trying to see more of it. Your own map, right in the app Tap "X km away" on any restaurant and see exactly where it is, and where you are, on a map inside Vegigo — no more getting bounced out to Google Maps. "Get directions" is still there when you actually want to walk there. Hashtags that go somewhere Typing "#" while writing a post now suggests hashtags as you type, ranked by how often they're used. Tap a hashtag and browse everyone's photos on it in a proper grid, with a post count and pull-to-refresh — not just a plain list of links. Follow people in one tap A small "+" now appears on someone's photo wherever you can follow them right away — on their post, or a local guide's card — and disappears the moment you do. Faster, more obvious photos Opening a photo now shows it instantly instead of a spinner. A post with several photos shows swipeable dots, so it's clear there's more to see. Also in this version • Long captions now clamp to 3 lines with "Read more" / "Show less". • A restaurant's photo header now folds smoothly into its name as you scroll. • A comment on the feed can be deleted or reported right there, no need to open the full post. • Event cards in the feed show the event's own photo instead of a generic icon. • "Report post" is red like every other destructive action, instead of grey. • The update-notification screen is now fully translated, with a readable list of what's new. Fixed - A post could get stuck on "Uploading…" forever, with no error and no way to retry. - A failed profile picture could be wrongly counted as an app crash. - The date and "..." menu on a feed post could land mid-row instead of flush against the edge. - A feed username could clip the bottom of letters like g, y and p. - A Local Guide card could leave a stripe of empty space under the badge. - Several screens across the app — including Explore, events, search, the map, and profiles — flashed blank or white while a photo or video was still loading.

Invite a friend, and see events in the right time. Invite friends Your profile link is your invite. You can now also enter a friend's code right on the sign-up screen, instead of only finding it in Settings afterward. Either way, when someone who joins through it posts their first photo, you both earn points. Settings still has an invite screen with your link, what each of you earns, and who has joined so far. Events, in the right country and the right hour Search a whole country in Local and every event there appears. Events worldwide are now grouped by country, with online events in their own group. An event's time now belongs to the place it happens. A market at 7pm in Jakarta says 7pm whether you are in Jakarta, Taipei or London, with the timezone shown beside it. Before this, anyone outside the venue's timezone saw the wrong hour. Two listings that were an hour early have been corrected. Also new: long-press any profile picture to view it full screen, and crop and zoom a new one to fit before saving it.

Find a hotel that can actually feed you. Travelling is when eating vegetarian gets hardest, and the hotel you booked is the one place you cannot walk away from at midnight. Vegigo now lists hotels whose own restaurants serve vegetarians: they get their own pin on the map, their own filter in Explore, and a badge on their profile. So somewhere to sleep and somewhere to eat stop being two separate searches. Plus bug fixes and performance improvements.

Tap a notification, land in the right place. This update is about getting you where you're going with less friction. Notifications about events, new restaurants and your restaurant claim now open that screen directly, and a shared event link opens the event in the app. Photos and videos still downloading from iCloud are handled gracefully when you post. Also in this version: • Sign-up is quicker — see whether a username is free as you type, and choose your dietary preferences on the welcome screen right after you join. • Verified restaurant owners get a "Manage my restaurant" shortcut in Settings for updating hours, contact details, reservation link and cover photo. • Swiping through a multi-photo post in the feed now settles on each image. • Map pins show reliably at every zoom level. Plus bug fixes and performance improvements.

Local knowledge, built in. Vegigo's Local Guides now have a home of their own in Search. Every city has people who already know where to eat — that's what Local Guides are for. Search now has a dedicated Guides tab, and tapping "See all" on a guide's picks opens a full, searchable list instead of a quick peek. When you post about a place a guide recommended, you can credit them, so the discovery goes both ways. Also in this version: • Search now ignores capitalization — "kafe," "Kafe," and "KAFE" all find the same place. • Roaming vendors — stalls and pop-ups without a fixed address — now get their own profile page. • Verified restaurant owners can add a reservation link and edit their own contact info. • The feed loads faster. A guide's stops, numbered in order, with their own photos and your location. - Nearby is now genuinely nearest. Rewards, event RSVPs, and a profile that explains itself. • Spend your points. The new Rewards store shows what's available in your country, which partner is offering it, and how close you are to the ones you haven't reached yet. • Redeeming never costs you progress. Your level now counts every point you've ever earned, so cashing in a reward can't demote you. • RSVP to events. Tap "I'm going" to save your place, see how many others are going, and get a reminder before it starts. • Your trust score now shows how many of your checks other diners have confirmed — so when the number doesn't move, you can see why. • Photos in the feed are smaller, so you can see more than one post at a time. • New accounts start at a neutral trust score instead of zero.
