A diary built like an instrument. Aion has three surfaces: a calendar, a text editor, and a dashboard. Each minute of the day has a specific hue, cycling continuously from midnight to midnight. Calendar. Your year at a glance. Each day is a cell, illuminated according to how much you wrote, with the moon phase and other date-anchored events shown as annotations. A yin-yang marker indicates days with both exercise logged and diary entries captured. Diary. A custom text editor with an integrated command line. Use cd DD.MM.YYYY to jump to a date, !remindme to leave a note for the future, or ?wiki to look up a term on Wikipedia. There are commands for navigation, search, reminders, and more. Patterns. Two radar charts and radial histograms showing the distribution and cadence of your writing. Swipe with two fingers to move between surfaces. Move the cursor to the top of the window to reveal the toolbar. Otherwise, the interface remains invisible. Aion uses no generative AI. On-device vector embeddings index your entries for semantic search and the “déjà vu” feature. After writing, use /similar to find earlier entries with high cosine similarity. No account, sign-in, tracking, or analytics. An optional one-way backup goes to your private iCloud. Nothing else leaves the machine. Entries are stored locally as plain per-day files and can be exported to Markdown or plain text. Any surface can be saved directly to Photos. Bought once. Built for a lifetime.
