Birthday cards are photos now. Open someone's birthday and you'll see a real photo with their name on it, like candles, a bouquet, or a sparkler. Pick the one that fits them, or let it change every year. There are a few hand drawn ones too, like a golden hour sky and a starry night.

You can choose the card now. Open anyone's birthday, tap Card style, and pick the keepsake they get — more than thirty designs, from a pressed flower to an instant photo to a boarding pass. Or choose Random and let it surprise you each year. Whatever you pick is the card you share and the one waiting in their reminder. Sharing works the way it always should have: the card goes out as an image that opens right in the chat, in your color — not a file nobody taps. The app opens like instant film now, developing your own photo as it comes up, and you can snap a new one with the camera when you add someone. One small new thing: the first time you install, we ask for your email so we can send you the occasional update. That's the only thing that ever leaves your phone — your birthdays, photos and notes still stay right here on the device.

There are more than thirty designs, from a pressed flower to an instant photo, a boarding pass, a wax-sealed letter. Or choose Random and let it surprise you each year. Whatever you pick is the card you share and the one waiting in their reminder. Sharing finally works the way it should: the card goes out as an image that opens right in the chat, in your color, instead of a file nobody taps. The app opens like instant film now. It ejects, settles a little crooked, and develops in your hands. If you've set a profile photo, that's the one that comes up in the frame.

our own birthday gets the keepsake card now too -> turns out we'd been celebrating everyone but you. And sharing actually works the way it should: a card goes out as an image that opens right there in the chat, in whatever color you've set, instead of arriving as a file nobody taps.

The birthday card is new -> full-screen now, and no two people get the same one. Open someone's birthday and it becomes a keepsake: a pressed-flower specimen, an instant photo, a letterpress poster. The people you've lost get a quieter card of their own. Year Recap and Lock Screen widgets are here too.

Every line you've kept for someone, now gathered into one keepsake you can look back on and share -> and your next birthday, right there on your Lock Screen. We also finally remembered the people born on Feb 29. They've been very patient. We also found a bug, gave it a proper send-off, and let it go!

A little kinder, a little smarter, and yes -> we found the bug.
