Find and remove duplicate photos on your Mac: fast, private, and completely on-device. Spots identical files and visually similar shots that other tools miss.
Dupe Remover scans any folder you point it at and groups duplicates two ways:
IDENTICAL
Byte-for-byte SHA-256 comparison. Catches the same file copied, renamed, or moved between folders, even across years of backups and reorganizations. Fast and 100% reliable — but won't catch a photo that has been re-saved, resized, or edited, since one changed pixel makes it a different file.
SIMILAR
Apple's on-device Vision framework compares what photos actually look like, not how they're stored. Catches re-exported JPEGs, light edits, the same shot at different resolutions, screenshots of the same image, and more. A strictness slider lets you tune how visually close two photos have to be before they're grouped — from "almost identical only" to "include light variants."
