Play at dawn, in golden evening light, or under floodlights at night. A livelier world Rabbits bolt, birds take flight and deer look up when your ball lands nearby. Trees sway gently in the breeze, and Parkland has been given a fresh, fuller look. Fairer hazards Boulders and dust devils now only catch the ball where you can see them. Dust devils fling you forward on one side, back on the other, and stop the ball dead in the middle. Hit the flag at a gentle pace and it drops in. Hit it too hard and it bounces off. Challenge your friends See when a friend has taken on your challenge, and whether they beat your score. And more Practice rounds now pick up where you left off. Change music, sound, vibration and text size without leaving your round. See how many Hall of Fame points your place in your tier is worth this week. Lots of smaller fixes and polish throughout.

A living, breathing course Every tree, bush and flower is now painted fresh for each hole, lit by that hole's sun and swaying in the wind. No two woods look the same. Animals graze, hop and peck, the lighthouse sweeps its beam and chimneys smoke. Friends Add anyone with their friend code or from their profile, then see how you compare today and across the week, whatever tier you are each in. Share the table as a picture and pick exactly who goes on it. Also Reminders now arrive at sensible times, sharing always includes a link to play, and we fixed a few bugs, including an old league message that should not have appeared.

Minor bug fixes throughout

Relegation is now the bottom 25% of your division — empty seats count toward the cut, so you won't drop just because others didn't play. The board shows everyone, including unplayed seats, and only players who play can be promoted. Your shared round snapshot now includes the hole-by-hole scorecard.

Every hazard has a sound. Lightning cracks across the spooky course, ice skates on arctic ponds, sprinklers hiss on the parkland, midge swarms buzz on the heathland, and desert dunes rumble as they throw your ball. Mulligans now follow your division. The further down the ladder you are, the more do-overs you get — a helping hand while you learn the ropes, and a tighter game as you climb toward the top.

A big visual update. The course now feels lit and alive. - Sunlight. Every round has its own sun: low and golden with long shadows, or high and bright. Trees, cacti and buildings now cast real shadows in the direction of the light. - Weather that moves with the wind. Rain and snow lean with the breeze, mist and fog drift the way the wind blows, and clouds cast shadows that slide across the fairway. - Landing puffs. Dust in the bunkers, clippings in the rough, a splash in the water, and the ball leaves pitch marks and skids behind it. - Little touches. Leaves, blossom and sand on the wind, sunlight glittering on the water, and the odd flock of birds passing overhead. - Fixes and polish throughout. Thanks for playing. A hole new league. SIX TIERS. From this week's new season, everyone plays in one of six tiers: Legend, Champion, Tour Pro, Club Pro, Amateur and Rookie. Your daily rounds add up over the week. The top 25% of your tier go up on Thursday, the bottom 25% go down, and your tier is the badge next to your name everywhere in the game. New players start in Rookie. Miss a whole week and you drop a tier, so play a round. HALL OF FAME, SIMPLIFIED. One number: points for where you finish in your tier each week. Higher tiers are worth more, and every place counts. PRACTICE. Courses is now Practice: 1,800 fixed courses to replay and beat your best. Stars, difficulty tiers and titles stay. Tap your titles to see the whole ladder. ALSO * Leaderboards now sits right under Play. * Catch-up days show how many rounds you still have to play. * The Daily Hole-in-One is now the Daily Hole-in-One Challenge. * A cleaner profile, and no more practice swing before your first round. * Friend Leagues have retired.

Smoother rounds all the way through. The game now gets today's course ready while you're still on the menu, and does far less heavy lifting between holes, so each tee shot starts without a stutter. Aiming feels lighter under your finger, with the same pull and release you know. Plus improvements behind the scenes that help us find and fix slowdowns across more phones.

Straight into your round. No menu to read first, no extra screen between you and the first shot. A proper look at today's course before you play it. What the biome does, and how to handle it. Your week at a glance. See every day you have played, what you scored, and which course is coming tomorrow. Missed a day? Every day of the week stays open, and now you can see them and tap to play them. Hall of Fame rewards every week you play, not just the weeks you win. Where you finish among everyone playing counts toward your points. FIXED A crash that could send the screen white during the free practice hole. Faster loading and smoother play on Android, especially at the start of a round. Text and buttons that were hard to read or hard to reach on some phones. Two deliberate omissions worth knowing about.

Divisions: the picker for looking up any division in the game is labelled properly, so it's clear you can tap it. Hall of Fame: second and third in your division now score points, not just the winner. Plus the lowest round anyone has ever shot. Leagues: divisions now work in leagues of any size, with numbered divisions of ten. Standings are on a single tab, matching the main game. Fixed the League Table tab that came up blank. Daily rounds: the same biome won't come up twice in a week. Wind no longer shoves a ball that has already come to rest. Prehistoric: the dinosaur's tail is drawn at its true size — no more being swatted by a tail that looked like it missed you. Steampunk: darker rough, so the edge of the fairway is easier to read, and no more mid-flight wind swing. Share cards: your score is legible now, whatever the biome behind it.

Bigger text. Four sizes in Settings — and everything's a little larger even at the default. Truer distances. Yardages were reading low. Now they say what the shot really is. Another look at the hole. Fly over it again mid-round, any time. The aim line's easier to see, too. Know what you hit. Clam! Gorse! Stegosaurus! Low obstacles used to slow your ball in silence. Divisions come to friend leagues. Groups of ten — top two up, bottom two down, Hall of Fame adds titles.

Divisions arrive on 6 August. You'll play nine others of your own standard instead of the whole world — points each day, top two promoted, bottom two relegated. Seasons are now one week long. The Open and Major retire; past winners keep every title in the Hall of Fame.

What's New in 1.4.7 Music and sound are now separate — silence the soundtrack but keep the satisfying thwack, or the other way round. Your call, in Settings. New — the Collection board. Mastery ranks your best 50 courses; Collection ranks how much of the 1,800-course library you've actually beaten par on. Two ladders to climb.
