D.off — Digital Detox
Write to unlock. Earn art.
Free · In‑App Purchases · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
More than a blocker. A self-controlled digital detox with transcription challenges and masterpiece rewards. 7-day free trial, then monthly or yearly.
Spending more time on your phone than you'd like?
D.off is a digital detox app built around self-control. It's more than a simple blocker — when you go past the limits you set for yourself, D.off locks the apps, and to unlock you transcribe meaningful quotes by hand. Friction by design.
Built with intent — designed to actually work.
Self-imposed limits, enforced automatically
- You set the limits, D.off keeps them
- Daily and weekly limits, by category or per app
- 24-hour asymmetric cooldown to soften impulsive changes
Unlock by transcribing
- On the shield screen, transcribe quotes to unlock
- Not instant. Brief, deliberate writing by hand
- The feeling shifts from helplessness to ownership
Masterpiece reward
- Pieces of world masterpieces are revealed as you detox
- Milestones at 1 week, 1 month, and 1 year
- A real art collection, not throwaway badges
Sleep protection
- Auto-lock 1 hour before bedtime
- Per-weekday start and end times
- A gentle digital break
Emergency 30 minutes (included with Free)
- For genuine urgency: one release per calendar week, 30 minutes
- The next emergency is unavailable for 7 days
Why D.off?
- Avoids the gamification trap that weaker timers and blockers fall into
- Transcription friction is something a simple timer can't offer
- Masterpiece rewards are sustainable motivation, not one-off badges
Premium subscription (optional, auto-renewable)
- After the 7-day free trial: $3.99/month or $29.99/year (about 37% less than monthly)
- The paid subscription starts automatically when the trial ends
- It renews at the same price unless cancelled at least 24 hours before the end of the current period
- Payment is charged to your Apple Account at confirmation of purchase
- Manage or cancel anytime in Settings > Apple Account > Subscriptions
- Any unused portion of a free trial is forfeited when you buy a subscription
- One account per device is recommended
Privacy
- Raw screen time data never leaves your device
- Family Controls applies only to the apps you select
- No advertising identifiers, no location tracking
