A practical companion for sailors: logbook, inventory, provisioning, readiness checks, backups, and optional Mac shared data.
KSF Passage Companion is a practical sailing app for passage planning and boat organization.
It can be used by itself on iPad, or together with the Mac version through an optional iCloud Drive shared boat dataset.
Main functions:
- Manual passage logbook
- Voyage Story notes
- Where Is? inventory for boat equipment and stores
- Provisioning planner with crew profiles and suggested shopping lists
- Readiness checklists for coastal, passage, and ocean preparation
- Backup and restore through the Files app
- Optional shared data workflow with the Mac version
- Built-in help and feedback
The app is made for sailors who want a clear overview of their boat before and during a passage: what is stored where, what needs attention, what food and water are planned, and what has been checked before departure.
The first iPad release does not include USB/serial NMEA input. Live instrument integration may be considered in a later version.
KSF Passage Companion is free software. It does not replace official navigation, approved safety equipment, legal logbook requirements, SOLAS/COLREG obligations, or skipper judgement.
