THE SINGLE-MOTOR BRANCH CIRCUIT — FREE • Full-load current from NEC Table 430.250 (three-phase) and 430.248 (single-phase), by horsepower and voltage — the table value, used per 430.6(A), not the nameplate. • Branch conductor sized to 125% of FLC (430.22) against NEC 310.16 ampacity, copper or aluminum, 60/75/90 °C termination column. • Branch overcurrent device — the 430.52(C)(1) maximum by device type (non-time-delay fuse, dual-element fuse, inverse-time breaker, instantaneous-trip breaker), rounded to the next standard 240.6 size. • Overload from the nameplate FLA (430.32) — 125% or 115% by service factor and temperature rise.
