Knit helps you clean up your contacts on your iPhone. Find and merge duplicates one pair at a time. Remove contacts you no longer need. Nothing leaves your device.
Your contacts get messy. Multiple email accounts, iCloud syncs, life events, the occasional CSV import. Built-in tools can feel too broad when you want to review decisions one at a time. Some contact apps use cloud enrichment to add missing job titles, emails, or company data. Knit does not. Contact comparison happens on your device.
Knit is a small, calm tool for one job: clean up your contacts in fifteen minutes. On your device.
What it does:
• Scans your contacts for duplicates by name, email, phone, and company.
• Shows the match reason on every pair.
• Surfaces incomplete contacts with no email, no phone, and no company.
• You decide, one pair at a time: Merge or Keep separate.
• You choose which contact to keep. The one you pick keeps its name, company, photo, and note. Phone numbers, emails, and addresses come from both.
• Remembers the pairs you keep separate, so a new scan does not ask again.
• Lets you merge any two contacts directly, even ones Knit did not flag.
• You can undo any merge from the Summary tab.
• Lets you remove individual contacts after confirmation.
• Finds duplicates across contact accounts on your iPhone.
What it does not do:
• No cloud upload. No analytics. No account.
• No automatic merging. You review every pair.
• No contact enrichment from cloud databases.
• No subscription.
Privacy:
Knit reads your contacts on this device. Knit compares them on this device. When you tap Merge, Knit updates your iPhone Contacts. When you delete a contact, Knit removes it from your iPhone Contacts immediately. Nothing is uploaded. Nothing is sent. No analytics. No account needed.
Knit needs full contacts access to scan your address book. With limited access, only the contacts you explicitly shared are visible, so duplicates outside that set will not be found. You can revoke access any time in Settings.

The merge screen now says exactly which details carry over when two contacts become one, including the one that does not: a note on the contact you do not keep.
