$1.99 · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.

Recipes from anywhere, a week planned in minutes, and a grocery list that writes itself. No account, no subscription. Optional photo recipe import with your own AI key. Platecraft turns "what's for dinner?" into a solved problem. Collect your recipes, drop them onto the week, and let Platecraft build your grocery list, all in one app that syncs across every device you cook from. There's no account, no subscription, and no Platecraft server. Recipes, planning, shopping lists, and link import all work the moment you install the app. Two extras need a key you supply yourself: photo import uses Anthropic's Claude (paid, and billed by usage), and nutrition lookups use USDA FoodData Central (free). Skip both and everything else still works. ADD RECIPES YOUR WAY Paste a link from most recipe sites and the ingredients, steps, photo, and tags come through automatically, no key required. Or type a recipe in yourself, giving each ingredient its own amount and unit so scaling and shopping lists stay accurate. Import a backup file to bring a collection with you. PLAN YOUR WEEK The Calendar tab shows your week at a glance. Tap any day to fill breakfast, lunch, dinner, or snack slots. Pick from your library or jot free text like "leftovers" or "pizza night," and set servings per meal. The meal plan assistant drafts a full week from your own recipe library based on the ingredients you want to use up, then lets you swap anything before you save. It runs entirely on your device and needs no key. Mirror your plan into Apple Calendar and share it with family, who don't need the app to see what's cooking. SHOP IN ONE PASS Pick a date range and every planned meal's ingredients combine into a single grocery list. Items are grouped by store section (produce, dairy, frozen, and so on) in the order you actually walk the store, and you can customize the sections. Mark your pantry staples once and they arrive pre-checked on every future list, out of your way. All of this runs on your device, no key needed. An Anthropic key helps with the awkward cases. If one recipe calls for scallions and another calls for green onions, it recognizes they're the same thing and puts them on one line instead of two. If one recipe wants three onions and another wants eight ounces of onion, it works out roughly how much you actually need to buy. SCALING AND NUTRITION Recipes scale cleanly to however many you're feeding, so portions and shopping quantities stay right no matter the guest count. Recipes imported from a website carry along whatever nutrition that site published, and you can always type nutrition in by hand. To look it up instead, ingredient by ingredient, add a free USDA FoodData Central key in Settings. OPTIONAL AI, WITH YOUR OWN KEY Add your own Anthropic API key to unlock photo import: snap a cookbook page or a handwritten recipe card and it becomes a structured recipe. A key also parses messy pasted text automatically, and cleans up shopping lists as described above. Without one you can still paste text in, using a manual copy-and-paste flow. No key means no photo import. Nothing else in the app changes. Anthropic bills you directly for what you use. A photo import typically costs around two cents, so their $5 minimum credit covers a couple hundred of them. Your key is stored in the iOS keychain and never leaves your device except for the calls you make to Anthropic. SYNCED, PRIVATE, YOURS Turn on iCloud sync to keep your recipes, plans, and lists consistent across iPhone and iPad. Your data lives in your own iCloud account. Platecraft doesn't run its own servers and never sees your recipes. Platecraft itself is a one-time purchase, with no subscriptions and no in-app purchases. Whether you're meal-prepping for the week or just trying to decide on dinner before 5pm, Platecraft keeps recipes, planning, and shopping in one connected loop.
