Trimming the edges of a scan is much easier. The corner handles are bigger and easier to grab, and there are new handles on each edge: drag one to shave a margin off a single side without pulling the whole page out of square. It also makes straightening a crooked scan far quicker. Pocket Scanner now looks like Pocket Scanner. The app takes its colour from the icon instead of the standard blue, and in Settings you can choose Light, Dark or System, and pick from four colours. Scans are also named better. Your scans are now a real paper size. Set Page Size in Settings to US Letter or A4 and every scan becomes a true paper-size PDF, the same size as documents from anywhere else, so they sit side by side properly. Auto keeps whatever shape the scanner found. Folders can now go three levels deep, for when one level of sorting isn't enough. A clean-up release, focused on the moments just before something gets deleted. Deleting pages now asks first. It used to happen the moment you tapped, with nothing to undo it. The confirmation tells you how many pages, so you always know exactly what is about to go. Cancel is back on two prompts that had lost it. "Delete this document?" and "Remove this mark?" were showing the delete option on its own, which made an ordinary question look like a one-way door. What's New - v2.9 (28) • Bring in a PDF — no scanning required. Got a contract or receipt by email? Open it in Pocket Scanner straight from Mail, Files, or Safari ("Open in Pocket Scanner"), or tap + → Import PDF to pick a file. It drops right into your library — or the folder you're in — ready to sign, date, and share. No printer, no re-scanning. • A tidier document viewer — the toolbar's been cleaned up, and searching within a document now has its own find bar for easy jumping between matches.

What's New — v2.8 (27) • Date stamp — need to date a document as well as sign it? Tap "Date," pick the format you need (from 2026-07-10 to "July 10, 2026" and more), and drop it onto the page — then drag, resize, move, or remove it, just like a signature.

What's New - v2.7 (26) • Your signatures now back up to iCloud - they'll be waiting for you after you reinstall the app or set up a new device, and they stay in sync across your devices. No setup needed; it just works when you're signed in to iCloud.

Two improvements: • Default scan filter — pick your preferred look (Color, Greyscale, B&W, or Photo) in Settings, and every new scan starts with it. You can still change it for any single scan. • Fixed: renaming a document now works again.

Smaller scans. Documents now save much smaller - pages are compressed like a real scanner so your library takes far less space and syncs faster, with no loss of sharpness or searchable text.

Organize as you scan. • Sub-folders - group a folder into sub-folders (e.g. Taxes 2026 → T3, T4RSP, Expenses). • Save to any folder - pick the destination folder or sub-folder right on the Save screen, so scans file themselves instead of landing in the main library.

Two ways to keep your documents in order: • Merge documents — got a document split across two scans? Touch and hold one, choose Merge into…, and its pages join another, text and all. • Name your signatures — give each saved signature a name so you can tell them apart when it's time to sign.

Sign documents right inside Pocket Scanner. Snap a photo of your signature once, and it's saved as a clean, reusable stamp you can drop, drag, and resize on any page. Capturing a signature is now a single tap — point, shoot, done. Keep several signatures on hand and pick the right one when you sign.

Editing a page (i.e. crop, rotate, or filter) used to quietly erase any highlights you'd added to it. Now Pocket Scanner asks first — so you never lose your markup by accident.

Search just got a lot better at finding things. Results now include documents tucked inside your folders, not just the main library, so you'll find that scan no matter where you filed it. Tap any result to land right on the highlighted match.

Cleaning up your library just got quicker: swipe left on a document or folder to delete it. Tap, confirm, done — with a confirmation step so nothing disappears by accident.

Split a scan into separate documents. In Edit mode, select the pages you want, tap save as New, and they're saved as their own document - the original stays exactly as it was. Perfect for pulling a receipt out of a batch or breaking a multi-page scan apart.

- Pick a look as you scan — choose Color, Greyscale, B&W, or Photo right in the Save screen and see it previewed before you save. - Rotate pages in a tap — long-press any page thumbnail in Edit mode and rotate it left or right. Your text and highlights stay perfectly aligned.

Two ways to tidy your library: sort by date, name, or page count (ascending or descending), and switch between list and grid views. Your preferences stick across launches.

Mark up your scans: highlight text in four colours or strike it through, right in the document viewer. Tap a mark to remove it.

Documents can now be moved between folders — or back to your main library — right from the list. Just touch and hold a document and choose "Move to…".
