GT SCOUT subscribers can now create their own Travel Groups and securely share locations and short messages with other subscribers of their choosing.
You don't have to plan for every worst case. You just need to know, in the moment, when one is happening near you and others .
Brought to you by Ground Truth Labs, GT SCOUT uses live and historical threat info about crime, protests, infrastructure outages, transit disruptions, severe weather, and public-health risks then matches that data against where you are and where you're going. When something nearby actually matters, you get a push notification. Area Risk Reports with local customs and norms are generated whenever you need them and always take into account regional context, recent events, and historical facts. GT Scout makes it easy to know before you go and stay aware while you're there.
Whether you're flying to your first international city or your hundredth, whether the headlines make you nervous or you barely glance at them, GT SCOUT does one job: tells you, in the moment, when something nearby is worth your attention.
* If you've never traveled internationally before, GT SCOUT is the local who already lived through everything that could go wrong this week.
* If you've been everywhere already, GT SCOUT is the briefing your security team has always wished you had — the same threat feeds, in your pocket, no corporate VPN required.
* If travel safety isn't usually on your radar, GT SCOUT is a one-tap install that sits silently until something genuinely warrants attention. Not "the flu is going around." More like "the road between you and the airport just got blocked."
WHAT YOU GET
Situational awareness based on current events and over 15 fifteen years of global events pulled from over 38 million events, distilled into 64,000 threat zones (as of August 2026) -- GT SCOUT's interactive map gives you the historical pattern and the current conditions real-time notifications. Features include:
• Live map of nearby threats, color-coded by severity. Tap any marker to read the source report and get the full context.
• Push alerts the moment a new incident is reported within range. Tunable by category - civil unrest, infrastructure, weather, health, transit, and more — so you only hear about what you care about.
• Region-filtered news feed. The same situational picture your security team is looking at, refreshed continuously, vetted sources only.
• Optional safety beacon. Three precision modes - high, balanced, low - let you share your live location with your security team. Off by default. You opt in. You change it in three taps.
• One-tap emergency contact. Designate one trusted person; trigger manually if you ever need it.
• Designed to pair with our security operations and duty of care platform. If your organization runs our Aegis/SCOUT map, your security team sees you on their map exactly as you see yourself on yours.
PRIVACY-FIRST BY DESIGN
• Location is off until you turn it on. Off, low, balanced, or high - you decide, and you can change it any time.
• No advertising SDKs. No data sold or shared with third parties. No cross-app or cross-site tracking.
• All traffic encrypted in transit (TLS 1.2+). Push notifications go through Firebase Cloud Messaging.
• Firebase App Check verifies every request originates from a real installation of GT SCOUT, not a script.
• Delete your account and erase your server-side data from a single screen.

WHO IT'S FOR
Business travelers, journalists, NGO field staff, executives, occasional adventurers, frequent flyers, and anyone heading somewhere unfamiliar who'd rather know what's happening than be surprised by it.

This version of GT SCOUT adds a "Find Group Members" feature to make it easy to locate your friends, family, or coworkers on the map. Also, long-pressing the "Group" button on the map now takes you straight to the Group settings menu, where you can directly message individual group members and make other changes to your GT SCOUT Group settings.
