Mandate is a satirical idle game about British politics. You begin as a party volunteer knocking on doors in the rain. You end up running the country, or writing a memoir about why you didn't.
BUILD THE MACHINE
Canvassing, leafleting, phone banks, street stalls, donor dinners, the battle bus. Tap an operation to boost it, hire a manager to run it, and stack up upgrades. Your campaign keeps earning Support while you're away.
WIN THE SEATS
Every level is a constituency with a Support target and an election-day deadline. Hit the target and the seat is yours. Boss elections, leadership contests and a General Election finale end in a live swing-o-meter on election night.
CLIMB THE LADDER
Ten ranks: Volunteer, Activist, Councillor, Candidate, MP, Shadow Minister, Cabinet Minister, Deputy Leader, Party Leader, Prime Minister. Then defend your majority, term after term.
SURVIVE THE SCANDALS
Scandals start as a rumour and become a story, then a crisis, if you ignore them. They grow with you: garden signs and the branch meeting at the bottom, leaked Cabinet minutes and the lectern at the top. Deny, apologise, sack someone or spend your dirt. Then live with what happens.
A STORY WITH CONSEQUENCES
Six multi-act storylines with recurring characters: a journalist building her file on you, a donor whose favours come with strings, a protégé who might save you or stab you. Parliament votes, PMQs streaks and rivals who react to how you play.
THE WHOLE UNION
Wards and councils, devolved chambers and Westminster, across England, Scotland, Wales and Northern Ireland, with twelve fictional parties. Constitutional questions are handled even-handedly.
