Capture publication-ready snapshots, export molecules as USDZ 3D models, and explore a new translucent surface view of any protein. FoldVision brings protein structures into your space on Apple Vision Pro. Load any experimentally determined structure from the RCSB Protein Data Bank, or a predicted model from AlphaFold, and explore it at life-like scale right in front of you. You can even paste a raw amino acid sequence and fold it into a 3D structure in seconds with ESMFold. Reach out to rotate, move, and resize a molecule with your hands. Floating panels follow the structure as you move it, so your controls stay close at hand - and you can place them wherever you like. WHAT YOU CAN DO - Load any structure by ID, or browse the RCSB PDB and AlphaFold - Fold a raw amino acid sequence into a 3D structure in seconds with ESMFold - Start instantly from a curated Featured list on the home screen - View in multiple rendering styles, from space-filling spheres to ribbon and backbone - Color by element, chain, secondary structure, B-factor / confidence, or protein domain - See UniProt annotations - protein domains, active sites, and binding sites - mapped onto the structure - Measure the distance between any two atoms in Angstroms - Focus on individual residues just by looking at them - Explore in mixed immersion (in your room) or full immersion FoldVision is built natively for visionOS and designed for students, educators, researchers, and anyone curious about the molecular machinery of life. Structure data is provided by the RCSB Protein Data Bank (rcsb.org) and the AlphaFold Protein Structure Database (alphafold.ebi.ac.uk). Structure prediction is powered by ESMFold (esmatlas.com).

Our biggest update yet — capture your work, take it with you, and see structure in a whole new way. Snapshot & Share Capture publication-quality images of any structure, framed automatically or from your exact viewpoint. Add a labeled card with the structure name, color legend, and any measurements, export up to 4K, and share or save straight to Photos. Export 3D Models Export any molecule as a USDZ file to view in AR Quick Look or drop into Messages, Keynote, and other apps. Translucent Surface A new molecular surface view shows a protein's overall shape while keeping the ribbon visible inside — so you can see the fold and the surface at once. More Ways to Color New hydrophobicity, charge, and N-to-C rainbow color schemes, with a live legend that always matches what's on screen. Angle & Dihedral Measurements Measure distances, bond angles, and dihedral angles by selecting atoms in order. Open Your Own Files Load your own PDB or mmCIF files directly from the Files app. And more • Smoother handling of very large structures • Cleaner lighting with a grounding shadow • Quicker switching between passthrough and full immersion • A new featured structure: the GroEL–GroES chaperonin (1AON) - try going inside! • Stability and performance improvements Thanks for using FoldVision — we'd love your feedback and feature requests.
