The app now opens much faster. Finding similar photos is about three times faster, and the app itself takes up less space.

We rebuilt how the app picks out photos worth deleting. It now rarely mistakes a nicely blurred background for a genuinely blurry photo. We also fixed temporary files that were never cleaned up.

You can now rate the app anytime from Settings. We also made review prompts fairer, so they arrive when there's more to review, not just once.

Fixed a bug where a thumbnail could show a different photo than the one it belonged to. It happened when scrolling quickly through lists.

The app and its App Store listing now support 30 languages. In-app purchase names now appear in your language instead of English. There are no other changes to how the app works.

New store languages: English for the UK, Australia, and Canada, Canadian French, and European Portuguese. The App Store description now explains what the app does in the first paragraph. No changes to the app itself.

Choosing a scan period is faster now. 1 week and 1 month are new, and you can type dates directly.

Finding similar photos got a lot better Photos taken moments apart now get grouped together. Before, only near identical shots showed up. Now shots with slightly different expressions or angles land in the same group, so keeping the one you like and clearing the rest is much easier. You can pick how similar photos need to be, from the settings button on the similar photos screen. Also improved Type dates directly when choosing which period to clean up Collapse the strip at the bottom of the similar photos screen to see the photo larger Tap a photo in that strip to jump straight to it See how many photos you have cleaned up and how much space you freed, right on the home screen All analysis happens on your device.

Much better at spotting the shaky photos. • Far fewer perfectly good photos end up in your cleanup list. Shots with a lot of sky or sea no longer get called blurry. • Blurry and shaky photos are no longer missed either. Closed eyes are detected more accurately too. • You choose how strict it is, from "only when obvious" to "whenever in doubt", in Settings. • The similar photos tab opens right away now, and it only compares the period you picked. • In each group of similar photos, one is marked as worth keeping. You always decide. • Now works on iPhone XR and XS. The first time you open this update, your photos are analyzed once more. It takes a moment. Your photos never leave your device, as always.

We refreshed our App Store screenshots to make PhotoSlimmer's key features easier to understand.

New: Similar Photos cleanup. We automatically group duplicate and similar shots so you can keep the best and clear the rest in one tap, freeing up storage. All analysis runs on your device, and your photos are never sent anywhere.

We smoothed out what happens when you reach the free daily limit while tidying up. • If your selection goes past the free daily limit, we let you know right away, instead of stopping you only after you tap delete. • Your selection no longer disappears if you don't upgrade. We keep as many as you can still tidy for free today. • Photos are now sorted with the most recent ones first. As always, your photos stay on your device.

This update is for anyone who hesitated to delete for fear of removing the wrong shot. • See each candidate next to the photos taken around the same moment, so you can tell at a glance whether there was a better one and decide with confidence. • Pinch to zoom in and check blur or closed eyes up close. • Smoother swiping between photos. • Polished wording across languages.
