The Whistletutor app is the companion app for tin whistle and Irish flute players at every level. Whether you're just starting out or sharpening your traditional music skills, WhistleTutor keeps your practice focused and your playing connected to the wider community.
EAR TRAINING
Build the listening skills that traditional music demands. Each round, the app plays one or more notes on either tin whistle or Irish flute — your job is to identify them on the note grid. Choose Tin Whistle or Irish Flute mode, then dial in the difficulty:
• Easy – identify a single note
• Medium – identify two notes in sequence
• Hard – identify three notes in sequence
Both octaves are covered across the full range of the instrument, from low D to high C#. Track your accuracy and streak as you go, and replay any round as many times as you need.
TUNE OF THE MONTH
Every month features a traditional tune hand-picked by Sean, complete with a video lesson, ABC notation, and a link to the sheet music. It's the perfect way to keep adding new tunes to your repertoire, one at a time.
