HA-LockBridge lets Home Assistant read and control the smart locks you've already paired in Apple Home — without ever un-pairing them.
Most ways of getting a HomeKit lock into Home Assistant require removing it from Apple Home first, which breaks HomeKey, Siri, and your Apple Home automations. HA-LockBridge avoids that entirely. It runs on a Mac as a second controller in your home, alongside your iPhone and the Home app, and exposes your locks to Home Assistant over your local network. Your Apple Home setup is never disturbed.
HOW IT WORKS
• Runs as an app on a Mac that stays powered on — ideally a dedicated Mac (a Mac mini is perfect).
• Discovers the locks already paired in your Apple Home.
• Advertises itself on your local network so Home Assistant finds it automatically.
• You approve the connection with a single click on the Mac — nothing is exposed until you do.
WHAT YOU GET IN HOME ASSISTANT
• Lock and unlock from Home Assistant dashboards and automations.
• Live lock state, including locking / unlocking / jammed.
• Battery level and low-battery alerts.
REQUIREMENTS
• A Mac that stays on and signed in — ideally dedicated to this — with your locks paired in Apple Home.
• Home Assistant running the companion HA-LockBridge integration (free, open source).
PRIVACY
Everything stays on your local network. HA-LockBridge collects no data, contains no tracking, and talks only to Apple's Home framework on your Mac and to your own Home Assistant server.
