Peak helps a parent review their own child's iMessage and SMS history for safety concerns like bullying, predatory contact, self-harm, and drugs, entirely on their Mac.
Peak reads an iPhone backup that already exists on your Mac (the standard Finder/iTunes backup). You point Peak at your backup folder, pick a conversation, and get a clear report of messages worth a closer look, with the full thread for context.
Local-first, by design:
• Everything runs on your Mac. Nothing is uploaded. No cloud, no account, no tracking.
• Peak installs nothing on the phone and changes no phone settings.
• No live monitoring, no location tracking, no remote access. Peak only reads a point-in-time backup you already made.
What you get:
• A categorized safety scan across nine areas, from predatory language to self-harm.
• Scans text inside images, too. Peak reads words baked into shared photos, screenshots, and memes using on-device text recognition, then flags them with the same categories as typed messages, so concerning content hidden in a picture doesn't slip past. Like everything else in Peak, this happens entirely on your Mac.
• A readable, well-formatted report with the surrounding conversation for context.
• On supported Macs, an optional on-device AI pass that rates flagged messages in context, still entirely on your machine.

Peak is made for a parent reviewing the device of a minor child in their care. It is not for monitoring another adult; please use it responsibly and lawfully.
