Prop your phone anywhere, step into the frame or keep your hands on the job, and say the word. Trigger Keeper hears it and takes the photo. No timer sprint, no asking strangers, no one missing from the picture.
HOW IT WORKS
Pick your trigger word. Any word you like, from "cheese" to something only your family says.
Frame the shot and tap Play. Trigger Keeper starts listening.
Say the word. The flashlight blinks so everyone knows it heard you, and the shutter fires.
Or just smile. With Smile to shoot on, it takes the photo when everyone in frame is smiling.
MADE FOR REAL PHOTOS
Your word, not a wake phrase. No "Hey Siri" required.
Burst mode takes three shots in a row, so blinks and mid-laugh frames don't cost you the photo.
Live Photo support captures the moment around the moment.
0.5x ultra-wide to 6x zoom, with pinch or one-tap lens presets.
4:3, square, and 16:9 framing.
The volume buttons and Camera Control work as a manual shutter.
PRIVATE AND LOCAL
Speech recognition and smile detection run entirely on your iPhone. Trigger Keeper contains no networking code at all. It cannot send your audio, your photos, or anything else anywhere. No account. No ads. No analytics. It works in airplane mode, because nothing it does ever needed the internet.
Listening stops when you tap Stop, when you leave the app, or after 10 quiet minutes.
A note on permissions: Trigger Keeper asks for full photo library access only because creating and managing its own album requires it. The gallery shows only the Trigger Keeper album. Your other photos are never read.
GOOD FOR
Family gatherings and holiday photos. Group shots where the photographer finally gets to be in them. Solo creators who need a camera operator. Anyone tired of the 10-second timer dash. Hands-busy moments: under a sink, up a ladder, or mid-repair, when you need a clear photo of a part to send to a colleague or customer.
Requires iOS 17.2 or later. Ultra-wide and telephoto options appear on devices that have those lenses.
