Bring your own book and hear it read aloud in a warm, on‑device voice. Offline, private, no subscription, for anyone with a stack of books to finally get through. Freedio reads your books to you in a warm, natural voice, entirely on your iPhone. I built Freedio because I had a pile of books I wanted to listen to, and nothing did it simply. The good apps were paywalled or cloud‑only. The free ones sounded like a robot from 2010. So I made the one I wanted: bring your own book, press play, and hear it read like a friend would. • Add EPUB, PDF, or text files, from Files or the share sheet • A warm neural voice that runs entirely on your phone • Completely offline, on a plane, in the desert, anywhere • Download a whole book, or just a section, to listen with the screen locked or in your pocket • Several voices, adjustable reading speed • Follow along with the text, tap any line to jump there • Bookmarks, chapter list, sleep timer, lock screen and AirPods controls • Remembers your place in every book • Fix any mispronounced name with your own pronunciations No account. No subscription. No ads. Free, and nothing ever leaves your phone, Freedio collects no data at all.
