DreamMap: Dream Analysis
Decode your dream patterns
Free · Designed for iPad. Not verified for macOS.
A thoughtful dream journal that reads your dreams through Jung, Freud, Artemidorus, and folk traditions — and shows how the patterns evolve over time.
DreamMap is a quiet place to map what your dreams already know.
Capture your dreams while they're fresh. Watch them reveal patterns over time. Read them through centuries of accumulated wisdom — not new-age guesswork, but real interpretive traditions, cited and grounded.
— Capture is fast.
Tap the microphone and speak. Apple's on-device speech recognition turns it into text instantly. Audio never leaves your phone. A gentle morning notification helps you catch dreams while they're still vivid.
— Every reading is grounded.
DreamMap pairs your dream with symbol interpretations drawn from Jung's archetypes, Freud's symbolism, Artemidorus's Oneirocritica, Talmudic dream tradition, Hindu sources, and American folk lore. Each reading cites the source it's drawing on, so you can read deeper.
— Patterns reveal themselves.
As your library grows, recurring motifs surface. The Map view shows your dreams as a constellation of connections. The Analysis tab tracks how each motif evolves through the four-phase Motif Analysis and Phase Model (MAP), a peer-reviewed framework published by Jenni and Roesler in Behavioral Sciences (2024).
— Weekly readings.
Every week DreamMap reads your dreams as a series, not in isolation, and produces a narrative grounded in Structural Dream Analysis (Roesler), the continuity hypothesis, and your own motif trajectories. Specific to you. Cited. Yours.
— Designed for your rhythm.
A morning nudge for dream capture while details are still close. A quiet evening reflection ping when there's something worth noticing. Both optional, both gentle, both respect your time.
— Private.
Your dreams are stored under your own account and never shared. The symbolism corpus that grounds your readings was built from public-domain sources with full author attribution.
For:
— Long-time dream journalers who want their library to mean something
— Therapists, analysts, and counselors looking for a practical SDA / MAP companion
— Anyone curious about what their inner life is saying
About the methodology:
DreamMap's analysis is grounded in peer-reviewed Jungian dream research, particularly the Motif Analysis and Phase Model (Jenni & Roesler, Behavioral Sciences, 2024) and Roesler's Structural Dream Analysis. Where it draws on individual symbol traditions, it cites them by name — Jung, Freud, Artemidorus, Talmudic, Hindu, or American folk — so every reading can be verified and explored further.
